Wheels for my Clubman. Help me pick!
Wheels for my Clubman. Help me pick!

Baby needs some cooler shoes. You guys are so good about style and critique, I thought it's be a good idea to seek out your advice.
You're lookin' at the stock 16s, and we all know they need to go. It would be easier/cheaper for me to stay with this size, but am willing to consider 17s. I don't want to lower it or mess with the suspension at all, and I won't be headed to the track anytime soon. I'm looking for something to compliment the car, nothing too aggressive or flashy... just a nice looking wheel. I was interested in Webspokes for a while, but I've seen them around one too many times lately.
Thanks in advance!
without a doubt the RB in gunmetal. Cheap and it will look sweet! https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=129709
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 in Anthracite
These are 17 x 7 , 45 mm offset, work perfect on a Dark Silver car....or go with the Bright Silver. Check for a PM

Those RBs are nice, but I like the Torques below them a lot better. Now I'm comparing those and the Team Dynamics. Some pics would help... Does anyone think Gunmetal/Anthracite is too much on the dark Silver?
I agree on the Torques. Not a fan of the Team Dynamics. A little too boy racer-ish with the company named blazed on the lip in huge letters.
Not too sure I'm too into the monochromatic dark grey body with dark grey wheels look...

Well, my personal preference is the R90s. I did debate anthracite or silver and ,for me, the silver works out better. Here is a pic:

Does anyone know if I can find Torque wheels that fit without a huge effort? I thought this fit stuff was just about matching up the numbers, but after reading too many wheel and tire threads, I'm not too sure. (this is, of course, one of the reasons I asked for help in the first place... Now I see things i like... at a price I like, and I'm afraid to screw up.)
Nope, hijacking not an issue. I'm glad to see a close-up of the 17". I'm still thinking about what's best, but I think I've decided they have to be silver.
Wheels picked... now to select a tire...

I've decided to go with the 17" x 7' Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 in Silver. Thanks for the great suggestions, My order is (soon to be) on the way.
Now, I've got to start thinking about tires. Who has a favorite? I'm looking for ride comfort and durability info moreso than performance, although that is a consideration. I'm not adverse to runflats, and I don't need any sort of track-ready tire. I live in so-cal, so no need for any special weather considerations...
I've read a couple threads on this, but sometimes it seems like some of you folks are speaking a different language. I just need some suggestions.
Whatcha got?
Don't spend more than you have to
Well, since you asked...................
I've tried a variety of tires for my MINIs, all of which no longer have runflat tires on them. The "04 MCS JCW still has Bridgestone Potenza S-02's (no longer available) in 215 x 45 x 17. Great tire, but way too expensive.
The other 04 MCS has the Avon Tech M550 AS and we're happy with them. Some reviewers at The Tire Rack say they're noisy when worn but we only have 4,000 miles on this set. The previous tires were Yokohama AVS 100 ES which wore unevenly and were noisy.
The cabrio and the GP have Michelin Pilots, which have a good ride and quiet, but are expensive (especially in 18 in sizes)
We recently put a set of BF Goodrich g-Force Sport (not the T/A KDW2) tires ($99 each) on the R56 Coupe replacing the stock runflats and they are a great tire. Good traction, price, and ride; and they get great reviews at the Tire Rack. A friend recommended them after mounting a set on his 03 MCS and love's 'em.
I'd stay with the stock size for the tires that come with your Clubman, 205 x 45 x 17 also.
Use the Reviews for the different tires at the Tire Rack to help you decide.
If you ditch the runflats, I'd consider purchasing a Continental Comfort Kit http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/...tkit/index.jsp but I'd check to see if it is compatible with the new TPMS monitoring system as it injects a sealant into the tire via the valve stem when you experience a flat. (Call Alex at the Tire Rack and ask)

NOPE... I also like a polished lip.
http://www.corrosionx.com/rejex.html
Works great, both on the inside and outside of the wheel spokes and inner rim. Follow the directions and the brake dust will wash off easily. Re-apply it about every six months and keeping those Hi Silver Pro Race 1.2's will be easy.
JUST DON"T APPLY IT BEFORE YOU HAVE THE TIRES MOUNTED AND BALANCED ! The wheel weights won't stick if you do

But that's another story.....Don't know how the Clubman will be as far as road dirt build-up on the rear doors. The R56 Coupe is better than the earlier Coupes...but in any case, Rejex the rear doors and the dirt comes off more easily than without it.
On the subject of tires...I like the Euforia's that are on my R90s, but I am not that demanding during my normal commute and I haven't made that many trips to placing were better performance would be required. That being said, I did notice that they are a little bit louder than my OEM dunlops. On previous cars I tended to prefer Michelins, but they are pricey.
