Will it be ok to put 215/50/15's on the front and 205/50/15's on the rear?

It is time for some new tires! I want to go with the BfGoodrich G-force sports again. I am considering putting 215/50/15's on the front and 205/50/15's on the rear. I heard by putting wider tires on the front, the car will oversteer more. This true? Also I have a 15x6.5 rim, will the 215's be ok on them? Will having a wider tire on the front effect the ride any? (make it twichy?)

Thats kind of what oversteer does. makes the car respond faster to cornering inputs.

Some RWD vehicles have wider rear tires than the fronts to help control oversteer and put the power down better (Corvettes, for example). I don't see why you couldn't try it on a Mini by putting the wider set on the front. The disadvantage would be that you can no longer do a typical tire rotation to help extend their life.

not sure if hieght difference. Lets say the 215's are taller than the 205. this will put more wieght to the back of the car causing less launch grip and mechanical grip. but will make the car move around more. for me i Use 225/45/15 fronts and 205/50/15 rear for racing. Since I keep the diameter the same (very close) I dont have Grip issue and since i like a very Loose car it does slide a bit as shown here

Unless the circumference of all tires is essentially the same, I would expect the tire pressure monitor to be triggered. There is a 1.2 inch difference in circumference between the two sizes that you describe.

The Tire rotation isnt as bad as it looks. The one thing I forgot to mention was tire compounds. Had Toyo Ra-1 in front and Hankook Rs-2 in back. For me if the car had same size and compounds. The car would push a bit much on low speed corners due to the Phantom Grip in the Diff.

Again I like the loosness which the compounds are a major factor.
