Has anyone seen the Weld Racing Racelite R/S Wheels for sport compact cars. I saw an ad in Sport Compact Magazine for them and can't find them anywhere else.

They remind me of the original eight hole wheels on the original MINI, but with a sporty/modern look to them. They also weigh less than most 15 or 16 inch wheels.

Thank you.

Lance

You can check their website at http://www.weldracing.com/ not sure if this is them though as it seems the smallest 17" wheel they sell is 8" wide.

I've looked there already, can't find them. They relatively new, maybe they aren't featured on the site yet, don't know.

Thanks

I saw the same ad... I think in a recent Sport Compact Car Mag... I agree, a very mini design on the wheels, not unlike the stock cooper wheels actually... and geez, could they be any lighter??

I don't think they have them on the webpage yet, but I'm sure if you locate a Weld Dealer, they can hook you up!

I have been looking at these wheels for awhile. Jeg's had them in their catalog but they disappeared in the last issue. I contacted a Weld distributor and the wheels are $225 each for a 7x17. Originally I was told that the offset was 40, but the Weld distributor say's that they are 37offset. That's similar to the OZ Superleggera's. I would like to see pictures of what the RS wheels look like on a car. All I've ever seen is a wheel shot without tires. They may look good on the MINI or real bad, not sure until I see one with them.

Thanks for the info.

Good point about seeing a car with them on it before buying them.

Yea, right now I'd just settle for seeing them on any car.... They have been out since before the first of the year but I haven't seen anyone who actually has a set on their car. I don't know why Weld isn't advertising them on their web site.

Hm, I didn't realize they've been out for so long. No that you say that, I'm surprised I haven't seen them on anything. Then again, they are a little wierd. Actually, they kind of match the MINI look.

I can't find them on any vendor's websites either.

I did the same lookup for these wheels they had a full page ad in eurotuner mag. went to the Weld web page and couldn't find them, so I emailed Weld asking for details. A fellow from Weld emailed me back saying they withdrew them from the market due to failures in testing. He explained that the ads require a three month lead time so the ad went to press but testing on track developed failures. Back to the drawing board, they are interested in our market though but he couldn't say when anything would be available... norm
