The Best Auto-X tire under $100.00 ??
What is the best tire for Auto-x that is under $100.00?? Prefered size is 205/50/15. These will be used for Auto-X only and I don't want to spend to much. The less the better. Then its easier to get past the boss I live with. Boy is she tuff !!!
NoBull,
I've found that it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission from "she who must be obeyed"; get the tires you want and then get a special dispensation from the boss.

Here's a link to the discussion going on in the racing and competition forum about 15 vs 16" wheels there are some 15" tires mentioned in the thread.
If you go to 16" then you could run the Falken Azenis 215/45/16 and they run about $105 each

>>All my autocross rubber in 205/50/15 is over $100 a tire. I would run Dunlop SP sport 8000, as the best dry grip street tire in that size!

What about the Kumho MX -- don't they come in 205/50/15? They are getting a lot of good press in the Autox Street touring classes. Not an r compound, but "apparently" can take more heat than the Falkens.

>>They are good tires, too... Tire Rack has them in 205/50R15 for $79 each.
The Kumho Ecsta MX is also the tire in the Spec Mini series.
