Birthday present.

Well my wife ordered some new wheels for my b-day. The bad thing is it's still winter here in MD. I have to wait about another month to put them on. I have a 2007 lightning blue cooper and the new wheels are Rota Jmags in Royal blue 16x7 offset +40 and tires are 205/50/16 Falken ze912. Well here is a pic. I think it's going to be a good combo.

They have a sweet anodized look to 'em. Going to be different and unique, that's for sure.

Sweet! Reminds me somewhat of the 1999 30th Anniversary TransAm that had blue wheels, except I think it'll look better on your Mini.

I just placed the wheels next to the car just to get a ball park feel. I think it is going to look good. I just wish the winter would end already.

Avon used to sell special wheels and skinny tires for just that purpose. Two benefits - runflat capability (if one tire went, there was still one to drive on) and a natural 'V' groove down the middle for hydroplaning resistance. It was such a brilliant idea (and unexpected consequence), they made it simpler by designing the groove into a conventional single tire.

Well look at it this way, your new wheels will be ready just in time to come on down to the Dragon in May.
That way they'll still be nice and shiney and new.

Thats one of the reasons i wanted to get wheels was for the Dragon. I got them at JLB Motorsports. I paid at alittle over $950.00. That was for wheels, tires(mounted),hub rings, shipped from CA to MD. It only took 5 days for me to get them. Here is a link.http://www.jlbmotorsports.com/rims/rota-list.html The guys name i talk to and ordered from us Hikaru. He was great.
