That's a pretty wheel - good choice! Any idea how much they weigh?

True - but there are few companies that aren't guilty to this to one extent or another. But it is harder to swallow from some companies than it is others.

But kudos to you for reading it Once I realized it was marketing text, I skipped to the pictures - and had to go re-read the original post to understand your comment

yeah....Konig has made a business for itself creating copies of other wheels and questionable designs of their own. This 'Feather' is one I've been looking at too....nice design, nice price, nice color choices. I'd like a 17x7.5 however

Maybe at 7" with super sticky summer tires wouldn't be so bad?

I just got black featherweights via Alta this weekend, and had them installed yesterday. I had them on order since 11/6they shipped direct from konig on 12/13.

I think they look great and are lighter than my stock wheels (I did not weigh them). I asked Alta if they knew of any problems with them after I ordered them because they are very reasonably priced, and they said none, they use them on one of their race units.

Sorry no photos yet (it's been raining in Calif).

So you like? Anything is lighter than stock except holies and they are only 15" so they don't count

I'm running 215/45/17 Kumho tires and the combo weighs in at 39.6 lbs.
(With TPMS sensors installed)
The stock R98 Webspoke with Dunlops weighed 44.8!!
So I'm pretty happy

Aww man! I was going to pop for these come spring as a track wheelset too. The price and weight was just too good to pass up.

The $30 price boost puts them in with some other competition (Traklite), so I'll have to weigh this out further.

Got same Konig Black Feathers from Altamini (GREAT price) in 16' - BUT painted center caps black (sand then paint and press in to make sure they stick as it is only glue and they may pop out). Just mashed one into a curb so will order another from ALta and use other as full-size spare on long trips

Do your feathers have generic bolt hole patterns? I thought it would only have 4 bolt holes each wheel...

They are probably available in non-MINI configurations (other bolt patterns or offests), but I ordered ones specifically for the MINI and they bolted right on and fit perfectly (with hubcentric rings of course). Go to the Altaminiperformance site - they have descriptions of 15, 16 and 17". tim

theres no problem with fit, but on the alta site, the rims only have 4 lug nut holes, mine have all the other ones as well... its not a big deal but it looks much cleaner with only 4 bolt holes.

OK - got you - the 15" have 4 holes the 16" and up have 8 holes - it says that somewhere on the site.

I agree - looks cleaner - what i do not like is the silver center caps - and the center part keeps popping out - they are just glued in place - konig gave me a bunch of replacements but it is a pain to paint

icic, oh well...

I just painted my caps satin black... very good match if you got the black feathers. I also went ahead and ordered some center cap domed vinyl from AC. They should come in a a few weeks. I ordered the ones with the MINI wings logo. If you want to go that route, the size of the diameter of the inside of the cap is 1.75 inches.
