MCS - Run Flats + Flat Tire - Spare = ????

I've always carried a can of Fix-A-Flat in my vehicles. Now with the new Tire Pressure Monitor System, will I be forced to carry a spare or a donut with me everywhere I go, or to have to wait for AAA to send someone out, or revert back to Run Flats?

Any other options?

Tire plugs or Slime and a compressor will get you back most of the time. I've heard some bad things about fix-a-flat, but slime wipes off easier. They have nice small compressors that work off of 12V-check wal mart.

I picked up a kit from Autozone for 19.99 that has the compressor and Slime in a small case that easily fits in the boot.

What new TPMS system? The MINI's use an ABS sensor based TPMS...yes even the R56...unless they've changed the design mid-model-year.

standard tire solution

Tirerack offers the Continental comfort kit - latex based sealant is easier to wash out - just needs water, no scraping or peeling.

What new TPMS system?
8/07 - Mini began using a beru direct TPMS like the rest of BMW's line. There was a sensor P/N posted here earlier.

Will this be compatible with the Slime product mentioned above?

According to the Slime website ...

At this time, Slime Tire Sealant will not install into tires equipped with direct (“valve mounted”) sensors as the sensor obstructs the passage through which the sealant must be installed. Therefore, installing sealant in vehicle tires outfitted with valve mounted sensors is not recommended.

So build date beginning 8/07 and newer: more expensive system and harder to use aftermarket wheels/tires, check. Thumbs down BMW/MINI

My conti kit would work, but any slime will permanentaly destroy the sensor.
