Will insurance cover new wheels?

My Insurance covered it (cops didn't even come out, took info on the phone). I had a $500 deductible though (i've now brought it down to $250), but the wheels and tires quoted from the dealer were $1600 for the stock 16in V-Spokes and Runflats. $167 per tire and $225 per wheel.

that's interesting because I have wheel locks. I didn't pay extra for them or anything.

Yea in the first post i mentioned that happened back on my 04' MINI almost a year and a half ago. But it did take a week to get the car back on the road because the Insurance company took about 5 days to cut me the check. They gave me a rental so it wasn't bad. But my car did sit like that for the entire 5 days.

I ended up lifting the car off the ground myself, luckily i have a whole set of tools for changing wheels because i autocross and do it quite frequently.

Hmmm.... MINI logo on one wheel, Union Jack on another....

The wheel is called PimpStar. See the video: http://customwheel.com/pimpstar.html

But... will they rub?

Ok answer this, would you rather come out and see your wheels missing or the whole car GONE?
I have a friend that works for a tire shop, he asked me the same thing. If a thief wants your wheels let them have them. It's better they take the wheels than to take the whole car, just to get the wheels off later!
Something to think about.

thats a good point, but i think if you were to park your car on the street, just put some anti-theft device to try to avoid the possibility of getting your car stolen. this may sound quite naive, but no theifs wanna bother with locking lugs, alarms and steering wheel locks. haha

I would advise you stay away from west phoenix then. They will pull up a truck with a trailer and tow your sh.. faster than you can pop the top on your beer. Alarm or no alarm.

My thoughts, just try to get a garage if possible.

Either those are nice BMW Center Caps, a good photoshop job, or apparently I like the BMW style and didn't even realize it... any input from the masses?
I actually like that photo shop. The M3 CSL replicas could be had for I tihkn it was $799 for a set of 19" -- I know that modbargains.com carries a big inventory of these wheels. Maybe if we generate enough interest, we can get them to run some replicas that fit on our car?

i have a question.

i have a set of 18" 7x5 sport editions (not by choice). if i lower the car an inch and a half with a set of 225 40zs', will i get any rubbing?

maybe the question is with that ride height and 18" x 7.5 wheels what size tires can i get away with without any rubbing?

please help...its driving me nuts.

thanx.

Hey Ken,

Why do your rear wheel arches look like they have different finishes?
