Looks good.

The Rota Boost is a Advan RG-II replica. Sorry, just had to point that out, but it looks good, I like it. Is that a custom job or can you oder them like that? I almost bought the same wheels, but I founds some used Advans.

'08 look so far: crusty salty wheels with narrow snows and a coating of road grime...

'08 look for summer?

Thanks! They are daily driver wheels so don't care if they are knock offs! wouldn't pay $500 a wheel for Advans to hit a pot hole and get mad... i bought them like that from 18racing.com....awsome service...

+1!! Get a good wheel brush... that's actually why I went to 16" OE 5-spokers from these:

But I miss the extra 1/2" in width, and the slightly wider track due to lower offset number on my old wheels. They were lighter too. I can feel it in responsiveness - it's slight, but it's there.

Not only that, but they are 17", which is not ideal for snow. You know what though, I live in NYC, I dont have to park my car on the street (thus no moving everyday) and the possibility of snow remains for 5 months out of the yr. Those are 5 months that I wanted to remain in STYLE.

RH AQ

these were just delivered this afternoon and I'm making a bee line first thing tomorrow morning to my favorite local installer. they're RH AQ wheels (17x8.5; ET35) and I really like the OEM look. selling my Compomotive MO wheels as they served me quite well.

yes, they are the RH AQ Maxilite wheel. I have been debating these for quite some time and finally saw what they looked like on another MINI so I took the plunge.

I asked in the linked topic, but what tire size are you going to use? Are you going to need 20mm spacers?

How much do those wheels weigh?

This will be pretty important. The car pictured used tires that were stretched a pretty good deal to avoid rubbing and it seems required with that low offset and wide width. You will want to look into 205 width tires....that's what i run on my 8.5"s and it should help you avoid the rub

For me it's just curiosity because the wheels are probably way heavier than I would ever put on my car, but they do look great on the car--curvaceous spokes on a car with very rounded contours. I would probably rather drastically cut than run the wrong size tires for those wheels, though. But it must be horrendously close both inside and out.

I will be using 215/45/17, which is what I'm currently running on my 17x8/ET40 Compomotives. The wheels (17x8.5) come as ET55, and have a multi-fit system so you can customize the fitment in 10mm increments (I think). I have a 20mm adapter, which brings the offset to ET35. RH lists this size and offset for the MINI so I gather with my stock suspension, I won't get any rubbing. Or at least that's what I'm hoping. GMP Performance was also confident I wouldn't have any rubbing.

I have no idea how much they weigh.

The GMP site says the ship with a "special 20mm A adapter and mouting bolts" Can you post a pic of that? Also, could you throw one of the wheels on a scale?

hmmm, well the wheels are currently being installed, so I can't get a photo, but go here to see a photo on the RH USA site of the adapter. you can also go here to see a schematic of the multi-fitment system. it looks like any other adapter (like say H&R) and GMP supplies all hardware to install the wheels.

as for weight, I don't have a scale (and the tires are currently being installed). I'm guessing the weight is similar as the S-Lites. they are not featherweights by any stretch of the imagination!

You mentioned that you had spacers as well, but I gather that the supplied 20mm adapter is supposed to be all you need for spacing each wheel on the MINI. Is that correct?

Also, were the correct centering rings for the MINI included for use with the 20mm adapters as part of the order?

don't think I mentioned having spacers. as I said, they come with an adapter because they are made to fit a variety of different vehicles. I have the 20mm adapter (the wheel is ET55 without the adapter), but I believe they come in several different sizes in 10mm increments. the centering rings were included along with all the necessary bolts for the wheels & adapters. speaking of which, GMP send the wrong size bolts for the adapters (12mm instead of 14mm), so I won't be able to install these until sometime next week.

That must be a disappointment. How do the tires look on the wheels?

Is this setup intended for summer? All the width seems impractical right now even with the melt-off we have had.
