I'm thinking about painting the brake calipers on my liquid yellow MINI. Does anybody have pictures of a LY with painted calipers? I prefer to see a side shot showing both front and back tires at the same time. I helped a friend paint his DS Cooper S calipers in red and they look great.

Thanks,

retroom

Seems like blue or red would be likely candidates! Red's more visable. Blue more understated. Just my opinion...

I saw a LY/B with Yellow and Black painted calipers. Sorry no pictures but it did look sharp. He had painted the whole caliper yellow and then did some spots in black.

Do people use high-temp paint for this? I'd assume that those calipers would get perty hot, especially if you auto-x... Short of high-temp paint, I'd think powdercoating would be the 'A' answer.

Nevermind... I answered my own question rather quickly with a search. From what I have read, this seems to be the best stuff out there:

G2 Epoxy Brake Caliper Paint

Thanks for the inputs. I will use caliper paint, and probably yellow. I haven't seen yellow with yellow calipers and was wondering how it would look. By the way mine has white top and white wheels. Do you think yellow calipers would look ok with this combination?

retroom, I don't think the yellow would match up all that well. That's why I just ordered red caliper paint for mine (earlier this AM) from TireRack

Tough decision, it sounds like the kind that could easily give you a head ache.

Here's my thoughts: The MINI yellow is a very transparent yellow, so to speak and the yellow paint offered by G2 is fairly rich and 'full/opaque' in comparison. It is not too far off that it would not look good, as there is a good 12-15 inches of space from the caliper to the closest painted part of the car. That distance helps the eye bring the two yellow together.

I would be brave and do the yellow, it will be unique. just my personal thought.

Although, if you ever do red sway bars (Eibach, HR, Madness), it might look a little Ronald Mcdonald down there. There's so many variables to deal with, huh?

BTW, the G2 paint is a very well put together system that comes with nearly everything you'll need to do the job-just follow the instructions and get the paint down quickly. It tends to harded very quickly.

I'm in the exact same boat. LY w/B.
I have a picture of someone from here with a Yelllow MCS with yellow calipers.
Looks very cool.
Plays off the yellow very well.
But there is just something about the Red. They look real nice!!!!
My neighbor painted his Porsche calipers red, then had a stencil with PORSCHE put on in white. Looks amazing.
I am leaning to do the same thing.
I have the yellow pictures at work. I will post them on Monday.

Was the Porsche yellow? I originally was thinking about red after painting my friends calipers red (DS S), they look good. Looking forward to the pictures.

I painted mine orange and have had lots of positive comments...The color matches the front signal lights.
I painted them with sign painters paint, not special high temperature stuff. It's been on for over a year and no problems
