I just received the newest issue of Eurotuner magazine, and there is an ad in there for a new WELD Racing wheel - 11.6 pounds for the forged 17inch version.

I called them up to find out more, and it turns out they will NOT be offering these wheels after all. The guy I spoke to said that in extended testing the wheels did not meet the strength criteria they were aiming for. He said they may look into a 'sport compact car' wheel sometime in the future, but won't be releasing one at this time.

So... just in case you were interested in these like I was, I thought I would post this as an FYI that they are not going to be made after all.

I thought I would revive this thread. I noticed that in the Jeg's catalog this "sport Compact Car" wheel is available. It is made by Weld and it's called Racelite R/S and it's forged. It's advertised as less than 12lbs and 17x7 with an offset of 40. It's also available in 18x7 and under 13lbs! Anyone know anything about this wheel? I can't find any information on the Web and I can't even find the wheel on Weld's website. I noticed it's been in Jeg's catalog at least since the first of the year (I checked some of my old catalogs). They advertise it as a street/autocross wheel and is a 8 hole wheel that's completely polished and that may actually look good on the MC/MCS. The 17" wheel is only $200.
