This is what I chose from Tire Rack. Can some people give me some insight on these choices. Wheel quality. Tire sound on the road, tire wear etc...

If the Tire Rack guy reads this, why did the site pull up these wheels in 5 lug for my car? No big deal, I just want to make sure they come in 4x100. You do have the wheel in 4 lug, I hope, maybe, please!

The rims are OK even if the image is not exactly right.
The Parada Spec-2 tires are good track tires, sticky and perform well. They are noisy on the street and don't last long- they wear out fast. Probably they should be saved for track use primary or expect to change tires more often.
For your rims and from tirerack.com
some people really like Bridgestone Pole position S-03 in 215/45-17. Better performance in wet or dry. $160 each and will wear better/longer up to 20-22K miles. Probably smoother ride and less noise than the Yokohamas.
Cost is a factor for these tires.

We only photgraph 5 lug versions. If they come up for the vechle, we do have 4 lug wheel.

Thanks for the info about the tire. I do not do any track racing. I street race throughout Germany and constantly am at high speeds on the autobahn. Germany does have a heavy amount of rain. I read that the Spec2 was a good wet weather tire. Any info about my situation and what tire to use would be great.
Thanks

the Generation 2 Parada is much better that its 1st version in water.
S03 is better in water, and increases water traction as it gets older
Unity AQ II . If your into cornering, and handeling performance, S-03 is a better choice. If you like the look, but dont push your luck (or your mini) Parada will do well.

OK. So the Spec 2 is more of a show-no-go style tire? Im looking for a second / summer set of perf tires and wheels. I do alot of quick cornering at not too high of speeds. I mostly need traction while excellerating out of turns. I know that I do have a lead foot while coming out of corners and am willing to change my driving style if need be, but I sure would like to remain the same. Is the S03 my best option? Also, Alex, does Tire Rack offer any road hazzard warranty? My wife and I found the right wheel, which is different from my orig post, but didn't see any road hazzard options for the tires.

From all the articles I've read out there talking about 16 vs 17", I wouldn't buy track tires and 17" wheels. You should either pick a track package and go with 16" wheels for a better handling response and several pound weight difference, or pick a street package and choose better street tires.
I would stay with S-03 for spirited street driving. Road hazard? not currently offered. Ask me July 1st, and my anwser will be diffrent.

Alex, I like the Kazera KR-Z as well. I just happened to be over to the site. I also liked the Sport Edition Fox #5 (. Pretty similiar designs I think. I'm getting an Indi Blue MCS and I want to accent the chrome. What would be my options on that wheel in a S-03 with a 16" rim. Do either wheel require spaces, special mounting concerns? Any idea on the comparative weights?
Thanks
Thanks
i believe there was a link on a previous thread in here about 1-2 weeks ago. i too was considering the sport edition, but the TK5, because it looked a lot like the kazera's. but alex @ tirerack recommended the kazera's cause they're a bit lighter. i think the difference was about 5 lbs, with the kazera's about 16 lbs. and the sport edition about 21 lbs.
i'm currently thinking about the super lite SSR comps, about 11 lbs, but they're quite expensive, about $320 or so. a fellow at [URL=www.outmotoring.com]recommended a pair, pro racing 1 and 2, which go for around $120 and are about 13-14 lbs. in the 16's. however, the one i'm considering won't be available in 16's until july or august. still, for the price and weight, it's a hard combo to beat. still haven't decided.
by the way, has anyone tried the wheels from http://www.outmotoring.com - the pro racing 1 or 2?

I have not ordered from outmotoring but I have checked their site:
For the wheels you mentioned-
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1
Only comes in 15x7" (13.2 pounds and $129 each) and 17x7" (17 pounds and $167+ each)
Available in white (backordered until Aug 03) black, silver, and anthracite.
Fits cooper or MCS, offset 45 mm in the 17" size

Team Dynamics Pro Race 2
Comes in 15x (12.2 pounds at $127 each and in stock now) ,16x (13.7 pounds at $141+ each, available after mid aug 03),17x (15.4 pounds at $156+ each will be in stock in mid aug 03),18x (18 pounds at $163+ each, available after July)
Available in white, silver, black and anthracite
Be warned that when things are out of stock you may have to wait quite a long time to get them back in stock.

These are both heat treated cast alloy rims. Not as strong as forged wheels. You get what you pay for.
See centerline RPMs at http://outmotoring.com/centerline_rpm.html

thanks, minihune. what do you think about the kazera KZ-V 16's vs. SSR comp 16's? i know the weight and price difference, but how's about the strength?
also, i plan on going with yokohama ES100, maybe S03, in 205/50-16.
as you know on the audio section, i'm trying to plan for sounds as well. otherwise, i would definitely go for the SSR comps.

Both choices are suitable for the MC or MCS. The two options are quite different in weight and cost ($119 vs $315). The Kazera KZ-V are much less expensive cast alloy and about 5 pounds heavier per rim. The SSR brand has more name recognition and as a semi-solid forged alloy wheel should be stronger.
Ask Alex at Tirerack and he will probably tell you that strength for "general use" is about the same for both with an edge to the SSR comps. The penalty for lighter weight with reasonable strength in the SSR is the higher cost. The penalty for lower cost with reasonable strength in the Kazeras is heavier weight. Is 5 pounds difference per wheel that big? Probably not if you are not on the track much. So for daily driving then no. Is strength adequate for daily driving in both- probably yes as long as you are careful when you drive and dodge the worst of the potholes when possible. If your wheels find a big pothole then either wheel could get damaged.
From Tirerack:
Engineered with sport compacts in mind, The Tire Rack's Kazera wheel line delivers affordable options to the import tuner crowd. Built in state-of-the-art facilities using low pressure casting technology, Kazera wheels are high quality and lightweight by design.
For SSR:
In a specialized process perfected by Alumax, uniquely structured alloy billets are heated to a semi solid state (the consistency of soft butter) and molded in a specifically engineered forging press. Through an exclusive contract with Alumax, SSR has further developed this technology and is the only manufacturer in the world today producing Semi-Solid Forged alloy wheels. This ultra high tech forging technology creates a very strong and light weight wheel ideal for street or track.
In essence-you get what you pay for. Personally I like the selection of finishes and craftsmanship of the SSR comps. On a budget the Kazera KZ-V are easier on the wallet. My choice for tires is the Bridgestone S-03 in 205/50-16 for performance and the Yokohama AVS ES-100s if considering the cost.

Are the Kazera's a quality wheel? Is there any drawback on them? They're priced with the Sport Editions but I was a bit queasy about the weight disparity. It's great, but is it too good to be true at the expense of quality?
