Suspension H-Sport springs installed
Just installed the lowering springs from H-Sport and wow! did that make a difference. The car looks and drives great! The car actually feels like it drives better with the different wheels, tires, and springs then stock.
Randy, thanks again for all of your help! I did mention that I did not have any rubbing issues but after a day of driving I noticed some wheelwell missing. Nothing the wheelwell trim mod didn't correct!
Also, FYI the wheels are Hamann HM4 17x8 and 215/40/17 Yokohama Parada Spec II's. Not sure if I would recommend using a taller tire with wider wheels.

Excellent choice twstlvr and Ryephile-nice pics too. before and afters are always good.
The H-sport springs look great for the MCS and cooper alike
Very nice product- Hope to add them on once I decide about which size wheels to get but I don't even think that will be a problem unless the tire size I choose is extra large in diameter.
Randy- how would the H-sports work with my madness rear swaybar set to stiff. Would it be worthwhile to add H-sport camber/toe control arms (only the two lower or all four?)

Looks great! I thought you would need to do the trim, but I'm very happy to hear that with that mod it worked as we thought!
minihune,
That's actually the set-up I recommend for autocrossing. If you are doing high speed track work, it is worth setting the swaybar to a softer setting to avoid high speed "tank slappers" and give up on the slow speed understeer.
I really don't think you NEED the camber links, but there is no doubt that it would slightly improve tire wear. The negative camber you get in the rear actually works out very well for spirited driving though, so I would just say to save your money and rotate your tires more often. While this won't completely prevent the tire wear all together, it will help, and it is a compromise you have to decide on. Is it worth the tire wear to get the negative camber, or are you willing to compromise the ultimate track/driving setup to save the tires?
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Looks like one more MCS to get H-sport springs soon.
It sounds like most people only need to get the H-sport spring upgrade to improve understeer and skip the rear swaybar initially. See how the car handles first and then add the rear swaybar and adjust to one of the two or now three settings for more or less stiffness depending on racing needs.
Personally, on the track I thought the stock springs and rearsway bar did OK. When the instructors drove the car it handled well so I know with added skill on my part I could do much better.
Thanks Randy for your comments.

Thanks for the information Randy. I am pretty close to deciding on th H-sport springs. I am running Antera 309's 17x 7.5 with 35et. Do you think I will have to do any liner or trim mods? The tires are 215/40 17 yoko es 100s.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

If it did require a trim mod, what would that involve?

bonz,
I hate to say this, 'cause I'd love to get you some springs, but that 35mm offset hoses you.
Even with the trim mod (you can take a look at it on the how-to section at the top of the performance mods forum) you are still going to have some issues with the 7.5, 40 series tire, and the 35mm offset.
There really isn't anything you can do to fix it short of going to new wheels.
Sorry!

>>Thanks anyway Randy. I like the way it rides now, softer than with the run flats but still firm.

Bonz,
Here is a guy who has the Eibach lowering springs and your wheels. He mentioned he had no rubbing and had made no modification to the wheelwell.

Has he had rear passengers yet? I think that would be the issue - under cornering with compression and any weight in the rear, you will have issues (and I'm sure that gentleman will find out that as well).
We did do a 7.5 SSR wheel with the H-Sports and had no rubbign issues, but they did use a 16" size. It surprised me though, I have to be honest.
If you want to try them, I'd be happy to get you a set - but I do think with any weight under compression you will rub, just based on what we've seen at the track. Some of these folks may not be having issues because of the demands they make on their cars, but I am more worried about the product working under all circumstances instead of asking for compromises.
Good luck!
Give me a call if you would like to disucss options.

Thanks TWSTLVR for the picture. I like the looks of the car.
Randy, I will give you a call. Some driver specs. 6' 4" 175 lbs, all legsand my wife is 5' 9" about 120 lbs. In other words I will not have many rear seat passengers. In the 8 months I have owned it I have had passengers in the back seat a handful of times. So cornering with compression will not be a big issue.
Peace Out

Definitely looking forward to putting the H-Sports on Coop. I'm just now starting to notice the shortcomings of the stock S suspension, though it still is a great car to drive. Probably going to do the sway bar later on in the summer/early fall.
