I think that the JCW and HSport are the least drop progressive springs for Mini Cooper S.

only other option would be stock springs...That I know of.

My understanding is that JCW springs are linear as well.

check with Dinan too, im not sure if they are progressive but they do not lower the car much, from what im told a 1/2" at most.

Nope. H&R makes an 'OE Sport spring' that is only supposed to yield a "moderate" drop of 0.6 inches on average. Make sure you look for mfr# 50416-2 though, as there are other more aggressive variants. Search H&R and Central Coast Coopers on NAM for reviews.

Note: some (esp heavier cabrio owners) have experienced greater drops, so there doesn't seem to be alot of consistency.

What are you trying to accomplish with progressive-rate springs?

If the answer is a softer ride, but with tighter handling, then Koni FSD shocks will do that, and with less effect on initial turn-in (progressive rate springs tend to initial turn-in make feel sloppier).

You could also get a softer ride with a taller-sidewall tire, i.e. by using 15" wheels.

I can't think of any other reason to use progressive springs, except for a softer ride, but perhaps you have another purpose?
