Before switching the rear swaybay think about front camberplates. The change will make your front stick better and you'll save your front tires! If you change your rear bar you're out of stock autox class anyway. I assume your doing this for the track? When I got my 2002 S, the first thing I did was put on a 22mm bar. When I autoXed the rear felt greasy and prone to snap overstear (after adding some camberplates)! Not something I would recommend to someone who drove on the street a lot. I now have a 2005 S with an LSD. First thing I did was put in the camberplates and drill two new holes in the stock rear swaybar aprox 1/2in (all I could manage) in front of the stock ones. While this is not the perfect solution, it works for me. Oh and I have some PS9's. I've learned to trail brake a little to get the car to rotate when I want. Don't worry, you can still make it snap overstear . Hell you can make anything snap overstear!!!! Especially in a MINI!
Note: If you are trying to figure out if you need a bigger bar for driving on the street I have no good advice for you! Sorry to be a killjoy....

I put an Alta 22m on it. Works great, but I'm thinking of upgrading to the H-sport competition bar...
