Also what is your time frame for release. My Wife's MINI arrives this week, and Bilstein PSS9's are about to be ordered, unless yours may be released shortly. I like the price, the spring rates, and the camber plates! What is warranty going to be incase the shocks blow out?
Once I send the completed update list to the MFG, they will start manufacturing. I should have the list within a weeks time.

The warrenty is 1 year, unlimited milage.

I'm a little late to the party but this part is what is basically turning me off from the kit even though i love everything else including price.

I've just seen too many friends with coilovers that can't adjust the rear and the crap they go through. They basically end up either having parts of their cars always missing so they adjust the rear or just never adjusting the rear which defeats the purpose.

I am working on a fix for this.

The coilovers are in line to be built. We are having more intakes made, More Headers, and then the Coilovers. Lots of products...

In terms of performance on autocross course, and street comfort, what is your analysis of the setup? Are the camber plates durable? Do they creak and are they very stiff or is there some shock absorbtion to them?

The springs do not look progressive. Is that good/bad or unremarkable.

Who makes the shocks? Are they rebuildable. What testing has been done for durability?

Just asking as my decision is to put Hsports and eventually Konis on or do your setup and sell my Webb camberplates.

I don't mind a stiff ride - witness my 2003 stock suspension and Webb plates and Alta 22mm bar.

I have had this setup on my car for a while, and am very happy with it. The front camber plats handle the abuse of the Pot Hole Filled roads of NJ very well. They are solid, so you do not get the flex like you do in the stock ones. There is not creek what so ever from the front plates. (I did have creek on the other brand camber plates I had if the front prior to the coil over install). This is good for auto crossing, because it gives a predictable handling response. Same with the Linear rate Springs. They are a little bit harder then a progressive spring, but they give a very predictable handling response, which is great for auto X.

Bump! Waiting to hear about the rear adjustment. Great price for hopefully a great product! I may order a set, pending on the rear adjustment as well.

Has anyone heard from Dan on these yet. I know Detroit Tuned is waiting for a set to try on their cars. Dan. I think we need an update. Have you tracked the car lately.

I've seen the two posts but was really wondering if Dan did anything different with his. Does anybody use these at all and if so what are your thoughts. I'm just wondering how they compare to the other companies out there. Cost is low but are they any good. Quality???

Wait or not to wait?

There has been alot of technical talk about spring rates and adjustments that I am not quite sure I understand (not too much experience with it). At the end of the day, what is going to be different about the Pilo version of the Megan Coilovers?

There is only 1 version of the Megan Coilovers for the Mini Cooper. That is the ones that I designed.

DAN

Can you give us any info on spring rates and if you changed the adjustment on the rear struts. I think everyone wants more info and if anyone has used these yet besides you. I know eveyone wants some comparison info to the other brands out there. Whats the warranty on these. Thanks .

Thanks for your help.

I hate to pile on here, but given the similarity of all Megan's parts to other items already on the market I'm a little skeptical that they designed anything 100%. This dating back to when all they sold were rear lower control arms for hondas. I'm not questioning your involvement, but were you around when they were "designing" the internals of this damper?

Anyway... my primary gripe would be price. Forgetting the mini market for a second, this product seems comparable to all the other brands selling import shocks. With a MSRP of over $1000, they seem to be at the high-end of the "no-name" market. I don't see what differentiates them from those other brands. Of course, market price is typically about $850 for the Megan, which is much more reasonable. I'm not sure if we'll ever see those prices for the mini application. Our vendors seem adept at sticking together to keep prices propped up.

[edit] I hope that everyone is paying attention to the spring rates listed. I have a feeling that the vast majority of the mini market will not be happy with 400lb linear springs - especially given the number of harshness complaints that I've seen already. Better to be upfront with this rather than have people come back complaining about a poor ride later on.

Changing the adjuster location would require a complete redesign of the entire damper and casing. Due to the modular nature of these designs ( meaning the internals are just slid down into a car-specific case ) there's probably no motivation for accomodating mini's desire to make things difficult

Thanks for the info. I know the price is about the price of cheaper Stax H&R and a few others. The only thing going for them is tha camber plate on the fronts. The adjustment is poor. Thanks for your info on the quality. I'll wait till I hear more about these. Ledas and Bilstein seem to be the answer so far. I wont be doing this till spring after winter storage in Buffalo. Maybe over the winter new and improved products will be out. Thanks again.
