Well actually you would want to drill two small holes for access to the rear adjusters. It is no big deal, the holes are not visible, and give easy immediate access to the rears. I have the HK amp, and I just take a couple minutes to remove it to adjust the right rear, not that big a deal unless you are doing it all the time. Given that a couple of us have already done some experimenting on settings, I imagine you can dial in the rears fairly quickly, and not have to get to them much after that.

adjusting a lot, at least I did with my other cars. But as long as I can adjust the rears in 10 minutes I'll be happy.

I've got 2,000 - maybe 2,400?? - miles on mine with one track event and another one tomorrow. These represent a very good value. I do not miss the pillow ball mount in the rear. There is lots of adjustability...but, Steve should think about bound adjustments too.

Durability may be a question, but by the end of the season I'll have a dozen track events and 20,000 miles on these. So far, so good.

If you can get several people, we can work out something, maybe not 700, but something. Remember, you get both Camber Adjustment as well and the Coilovers. At $1025 I feel this is already a great deal.

I'm interested if anyone is planning on putting something together.

Are you talking about compression adjust? I thought theses were compression adjustable?

And I'm saying that people can get Camber Adjustments as well as the coilovers (megans) for 900 and free shipping. If 1025 is a "great deal", this deal is amazing.

it is a great price (for what you get...but 900 is even better) ....but there is also a website who is able to sell for 900 including shipping (without needing to get a certain number of people). It's mostly because they are part of the import scene....and part of me hopes that the MINI community will catch on and offer non-inflated prices now that there is competition.

I just dont think people should spend 125 (+shipping) extra and get nothing extra for it.

already a great price for what you get. I don't mind flipping Dan an extra $125 for all his hard work. And if I have problems he is just a phone call away and he has a lot of exprerience. That is worth the extra cost and if that extra cost is going to break the bank, its time to find a new hobby.

The other company is a phone call away as well...and have far more experience with megan products (one of the best megan's distributors in the country). And I'm sure they do a lot of "hard work" as well.

In terms of the 'finding a new hobby' thing...if you could get megans coilovers AND a pulley for the price of Pilo Megans coilovers, wouldnt that make more sense?

How much will said pulley cost to install? It won't do me much good sitting in my hot hand. I guess I could make a neckless out of it! Or I could play catch with it! Expensive paper weight? Hey, wait, I don't even want a pully! I think I'll pass. Thanks for all your research and help! If it wasn't for Dan these would not even be available for the Mini. It's time to detail the Mini for tonights Dodger Game and tomorrows Malibu Mini run! See ya!

hehe i mean...install will have to be paid...but still which one is a better choice? $1025 for a pulley AND coilovers (including customer serviceand free shipping) or $1025 +$hipping for JUST coilovers (including customer service)?

and in terms of them never happening without dan....how true is that? They just used his car as the test car....they are doing the same thing with another NAM member in terms of cooper exhausts. I'm sure they would have found a MINI to develop the coilovers on....someone at megan is even buying an MCS soon. I thank Dan for offering his car for testing...thats awesome.

I was just attempting to get reasonable prices for our community and making the MINI parts distributors aware that there is officially competion so that they may have to drop the inflated prices that they were once able to have due to a lack of aftermarket for the MINI.

*not affiliated with the company i speak of(which will not be listed out of respect for Pilo)....just an informed shopper*

I'd like to make a comment here as a vendor. RallyMINI, I understand where you are coming from(I'm a price shopper too, but value is more important to me than the absolute lowest price), but you don't see this other company here on NAM do you?? You don't see them posting or replying to your inquiries. You don't see them paying to be an advertiser. Sure they may offer good service and such, but the point is, Dan, who's been on the MINI scene from the beginning is here to help out. And IMO no matter what contribution you think he has or hasnt' made in regards to a product offering really is irrelevant. Maybe you should ask them to join NAM?

If you really are trying to do something positive for the community, then you should help unite the vendors and the customers together, and not pressure them to lower prices due to competition that doesn't even cater directly within our community.

Just my 2 cents.

Richard

It's a little late for that as you have mentioned them several times now. I know who I will be buying them from and if I have to pay $1025 for them I'll do it with a smile on my face knowing I am still getting a great deal. Im not looking to drive his prices so low that he can no longer sell them. If fact I am looking to support people like Dan because without hard working people like Dan we wouldn't have the wonderful products that we have for our Mini Coopers. End of this discussion on my part!

I agree.....but Megans racing already posts here, and this company that I'm talking about is a direct distributor for them (hence the lower prices). If i wanted to post a question, I'm sure the employee at megan racing (who has already been posting on NAM a lot...and is buying a MINI) would readily answer any question...and im sure it would be highly reliable (considering he works at Megan Racing)

I'm not pointing people towards a company that doesnt cater to our community. Megan Racing caters directly and is working with members here to make parts that we are asking for...what more could you ask for?

I've been on the reseller side where I was driven into the ground because the distributor/mfr I was buying from started selling direct. There's nothing worse than competing with the very company you are trying to support. If that's how it works, and I'm really not familiar with this particular situation, I feel for Dan then as he's got all uphill to go. I think both sides have spoken well on this topic.

re: CynMINI
Yeah hope to see you at an event soon! Been a long time. I've heard from the other Simi people about some of the things you've been up to. It all sounds great!!

Have there been info leaks? Ive been keeping things very quite! I'll tell once I get done with my current project, which I should have finish a long time ago. But you know how it is with work, family, this, that and the other thing. I wish I was one of those people who needed only about 30 minutes of sleep every night. Then I might get everything done! ok back to detailing my car!

Haha, I've heard a few small things. I won't say of course. I'm just glad that things are cool.

When I dropped them off at the shop the only thing he was skeptical about was the camber plates, but after the install even the camber plates were on the thumbs up list.....something about a slight taper that makes them snug up perfectly....."no one builds 'em like that unless they really know what they're doing."

He complained that given the great job Megan did overall they should have come up with an easier way to adjust the rear dampers.....and then he complained about having to take them off again to install that retrofit part a few of us early folks got.....
