H&R RSS Club Sport Coil-Over Kit

Does anyone have any experience with this coilover kit? Everything I've read states that you sacrifice some ride comfort.
I'm running H&R springs now. Will this kit make it that much harsher? I don't mind stiff, but I don't want a bone jarring ride, either.

Answering my own post. I had these installed last week. They're great.

The ride is less harsh than the H&R springs with the stock shocks. The drop in the front was a little too much - even at their highest setting. I added Helix camber plates and that raised them enough to be just right.
These are a very nice setup. Highly recommended.

Please update us on your H&R RSS coilovers...I found a really good deal on a set and would like to know a little more about them before I make any decisions.

I just got mine installed last week. I have nothing but talk great things about it. More comfortable than my stock sport suspension. The car is much more stable, comfortable, tires hug the road all time, but bouncier than stock. Sadly, I ran over a deer on my way back to WI from VA. Fortunately, that car was very stable and the car did not went off the road. The deer damaged my radiator hoes and steering fan (70mph at PA turnpike). This is my first kit and I am very please with it. Can't wait to get my car back and have fun with this kit.

BTW: I have 22mm rear sway medium. Drop 2" front and rear and alignment for autox (semi agressive)

Wow a 2" drop; what setting is that on? Do you have any pictures of them installed?

Sorry I do not know the setting. I just told the mechanic to set it to semi agressive for autox and road use. I don't have pictures yet, hope I can get my car back soon so I can take some pics. Oh, I have to cut the plastic piece so the car wont rub. 2" drop is not bad at all, not to mention I have 15" OZ.

RSS Club Sports have 525# front springs and 440# rear springs - I may be off by a pound or two. Fairly aggressive for every day fair.

Make sure you check these for spring bind. I sent a set of the Sport coilovers back - red springs - because the design allowed for one working coil up front with the springs set as high as possible. I'm sure most folks won't notice this, but believe me, if you bring your car to a track with one working coil, your car will slide as soon as the coil binds - reaches block hieght. If you lower the car, the coils will unbind ever so slightly; I gained another half inch in spring travel by lowering the car to a point where the chin spoiler was 1" off the ground. The springs still bound up, and the car scraped along the ground aggressively. The red springs are 469# front and 240# rear.

These kits are progessive in nature; they are bumpstop active kits and despite the linear rate spring in the Club Sport, these do work progressiviely due to the bumpstops.

Look thru the wheel well or thru your wheels. If there is only one coil that is uncompressed, that remaining coil is all the suspension travel you have.

FYI

The RSS kit that I looked at had red progressive rate springs and bump stops. Apparantly they were installed and driven on for less than 300 miles, but the previous owner thought they had too much drop, even on the highest setting, for winter driving. They retail for $1400 new; you think a $1000 offer would be too low?

The Club Sport kit has green springs and the standard Coilover kit has Red. The Red kit retails for about $1,000.00 new from Turner Motorsports.

The RSS Club Sport kit retails for about $1,600 because it also comes with adjustable dampers and heavier spring rates.

I don't know H&R's entire product line, but the standard coilover kit with no damping adjustability should not cost more than $1,000.00 new. I'm sure it is possible to incorporate the adjustable damper with this kit...in which case the higher cost seems justified.

...that is the RSS Club Sport kit - very aggressive spring rates, but the valving and bumpstops make these a little more tolerable for the street. I've not had a chance to drive these long term on the street, so I have no impressions worth writing about. The others are a different story.
