Cross Competition vs Ohlin/Hyperco/Vorshag/various end links
Anyone have input on how these compare? I've a hunch the Ohlin set might be a bit better, but with the full package I think the Cross come out a bit less. I'm reading on 'em and the Cross sound like a good set (although a tad pricey like the Ohlins), only saw one negative review so far.
Thanks!

Yes, in a way. Primarily the coilovers. But since the Cross set comes with one set of end links and camber plates (which some Ohlins do I think?) I put the rest all together for a roughly equivalent comparison for the price.

That's what I thought, hence adding them for the comparison. I wasn't 100% though as I thought the pics from someone else's recent thread about some had plates on the front.
Thanks for the input.
Doesn't seem there's much of an experience pool for this specific comparison. Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to provide one in a couple of years. :D

That thread title is pretty confusing. Vorshlag only makes camber plates, hyperco only makes springs. I'd go for Ohlins over Cross all day every day. I personally am running Vorshlag camber plates and custom valved Koni double-adjustables (used to be TC Kline shocks).
Lots of people running similar setups here you just need to be more specific with your questions if you want answers.

When I upgrade my cheap shocks for a coilovers system it will be the ohlins for sure, these are high-end, that can be adjusted in a few minutes from super soft to track conditions. I don't know of any other coilover setup that can do from soft to hard dampening. They do require re-valving every 40-50K miles, I was told this by an Ohlins dealer.

Thanks all for the input. I think I like the Ohlin combo better from what I've been reading on here. I just didn't know if there was limited mention of the Cross set because everyone just automatically went for the Ohlins or if there was a reason most weren't trying out the Cross ones.
Buddy of mine got Cross, but sold them quickly right after. So I never had any seat time in his MINI, but he now has JRZ coilovers and they're really good. Very pricey, but they are a solid set of coilovers. Ohlins are softer because it's a Road & Track version of their suspension, which can be revalved however you want in the future if you send them in for revalve job, but the JRZ are track coilovers and they're stiffer and ride height are the same as they have helper springs as well. If you've got money to blow, JRZ's are sweet system.
