Suspension Picture request: Megan Racing coilovers installed
Picture request: Megan Racing coilovers installed
Anyone that has Megan Coilovers, do you mind posting some pictures of them installed from under the hood? I want to see the damper adjusters and how they sit and are accessed.
Some people have told me that you can't even get to the adjusters and need to cut the metal on the strut mount, is this true?
Thanks

You have the damper adjustment mixed up with the camber adjustment screws. The damper ***** are smack dab in the middle. There are 4 bolts to adjust camber and they're 2 top and 2 bottom, there are 6 holes they can sit in and they come in the outermost holes, the first thing is to move then to 4 holes that are next to each other in order to create more room. I didn't cut my towers but I did bend the edges of the lips up a bit all around to create more room, not sure if it was even necesarry but it was pretty simple.
Look through this thread for more details and pictures regarding the bending and the cutting (which was the norm before someone realized you just had to bend slightly)

The BC's and Megan's are very similar and nearly identical, just be aware when they refer to Megan's in there they're referring to the older versions. The newer Megan's go much much lower and have better designed springs than the old ones.

You got some pictures of your setup?
Thanks for the info. I wasn't confusing the camber adjustments and the dampening adjustments though. I know the camber adjustments would be difficult to get too but I was talking to a few people that said they couldn't even get the damper adjustment ***** either. Clearly that would be a big turn off.

I don't have any pics of mine, I can try to snap one during lunch, but here's a pic from that BC thread that shows what it looks like. The large middle **** is your compression adjustment, it turns very easily with 2 fingers and has clicks to index position. As you can see it's wide open in the center and easy to access unless you have abnormally large fingers maybe

note that this member has bent the opening upwards to make the camber bolts easier to access.

Thanks again.
No problem. I didn't snap any pics during lunch but you got the idea, it shouldn't be any issue at all.

yea the rears are another story... you can either set it and forget it, or drill a hole through the access cubbies in the hatch to snake some remote cables that come with the Megans. I opted for choice #1 of setting it and forgetting it... if I ever want to adjust them again I'm ok with popping them off from the top since I can then reach the ****.
Megans have been ordered!
