Getting ready to order coils and need opinions...

Looking to spend in the $1k range and here are the coilovers I'm considering:

H&R
Ksport
BC Racing
ST Suspension

I'm not going to be tracking my car, but I do want it to handle noticeably better than stock. I've ordered an Alta 19mm RSB and will be getting an alignment soon after I install the coils. I plan on lowering the car 1.5"-2".

What are your opinions? Ride quality, handling? Should I go with something that doesn't dampening adjustability since I don't plan on tracking it?

TIA

I've 8 years of autocross and 170k miles on a set of H&R coil-overs.

No problems, and highly recommended.

Cannot compare however - I have not tried the others on the list.

Cheers,

Charlie

I really like my ST's.

Ride quality - meh.
Handling - AWESOME.

You didn't list them... but check out the Koni 1150's worth the lifetime warranty alone.

AFAIK, they don't make them for the R56

If you haven't decided by spring, I'll give my review of the ST's. Sitting in the spare room waiting to be installed.

In the meantime, here's a thread on them:

I'd prefer stock to K Sport.

We've had customers very happy with the ST Coilovers, as they are a more affordable option to the KW V1's.

Another option you may consider is the Megan Racing coilovers. I had two guys last week email me to tell me how happy they were with theirs they had bought from us.
