How to Lower with Just Springs

Hello NAM members. Is there any write up on how to lower the R56 with just the springs including torque specs?

Are you going to replace just the springs and use the stock dampers?
Which torque specs do you need?

Yes just replacing the springs with NM for now. Never did on a MINI so i just wanna make sure I do it right. I need to know if there are any write up/step by step process and torque specs for all the nuts/bolts.

BTW...I just saw a thread here from Alta re H & R springs installation but was wondering where I can get the torque specs.

Thanks!

Go to the NM site and you can download instructions on spring replacement. Full instructions w/torque specs if I remember right. Have the NM springs myself. If you have trouble finding specs, PM me and I will send you Inst. Good luck.

I couldn't find anything on NM but anyhow, would I need a 21 mm strut socket from BMW for taking out the strut mount nut? I saw a thread on how to here in NAM and list as one of the tools needed.

Impact gun! ;-)

Tourque specs are not "Mini" specific. They can be looked up on the internet as tourque specs go by bolt size.

Go to Sears and get whatever sockets you may need.
Torque specs are M8-10 ft.lbs. M10-19 ft. lbs. M12-34 ft. lbs. M14-54 ft. lbs. M16-83 ft. lbs. Hope this helps.
NM used to have that info but now I see for the springs it's gone?
