You need to get an alignment. Lowering changes both camber and toe.

Alignment done, the drivers side is about a deg out but I've been told that won't make much difference

What are your measurements for the front camber and toe? A degree is quite large for camber.

Was the issue of rear noise addressed by the alignment?

Ok... After pissing about swapping wheels around from front to back and then the rear wheels swapped over from the wifes R56 with runflats on them, it appears to be my falken 452's which have developed only minor inside wear- the inner block treads are different heights with every other one being higher than the previous plus the inner tread channel that runs centrally has s slight lump in it

So don't buy falken 452 tyres

Sounds like a toe problem. Not sure you can blame the tires.

Well, this is odd that the alignment shop is unable to get both sides close.

See if this makes sense to you:

Adjust both sides front camber to approximately -1.0. It is OK to be there even though it is out of Mini spec. You will get a lot better turn in than before. The adjusted front toe is fine so the cupping will be minimized.

Adjust both sides rear camber to roughly -1.4 to-1.6. Rear toe is also fine. Your current driver (UK) rear camber is -2.2 and that will wear down your inside tire too quickly w/o giving you any real handling advantage.

Take it to another alignment shop if your current one cannot do it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info slinger

I've just had new tyres fitted which has cured the noise, inner lip not too badly worn but they are wearing quicker due to camber. I'll be taking it to another garage to get the adjustments made as you've recommended, thanks again for the advise
