Guess I'm going with coilovers afterall....

In an attempt to keep a happy medium for track and street, I ordered a set of bilstein B8's to go along with my NM springs.

They were suppose to be here already and I received notification they could be another month before they come.

So I ordered a set of BC coilovers (8K front 7K rear) with Swift springs. I'm getting them at a much better than normal price so if I don't like them, I won't lose anything.

I'll give you my impressions once I get them and do some track days (which won't be till the end of the month)

Mark

Track times of BC coilovers vs NM+B8 will be very interesting. Keep us posted!

Unfortunately, I've been waiting for almost a month and no B8's yet. That is why I'm going with the coilovers.

So I'll have nothing to compare it to...

But the b8's are still on order, so you're expecting them still?

Ah. Understandable.
Hopefully I'll have PSS10s on the way.

Are you going to get swift springs for your BCs?

I have PSS10's on the car. I like #3-5 for street driving. The amount it lowers is quite a bit. I am max height and it is dropped quite a bit.

I really like them.

I noticed less body roll and pitch.
Better traction on acceleration from standstill.
Bump compliance is a matter of personal preference. #1 is too soft for sure.
#2-3 make the wife happy. #4-5 are very firm settings that I like. If I was going track days I would go even higher.
The ride height is perfect for looks IMO.

Sounds great. Sounds like the damper adjuster does more than they did on the PSS9s, which I understand was their only downfall.

I'm definitely gonna get stiffer Swift springs for them, probably 8kg front and 6.5kg rear. I also have a forgiving girlfriend, so I'll probably be using the higher 5 settings, lol.

Shame the maximum ride height couldn't be a little higher.

I don't know that you will need any higher spring rates. There is very little pitch and yaw with the stock springs.

Can you see the stock rates keeping up with track work though? I also am not a fan of progressive spring rates

I hope so... I bought new tires for the track, a set of adjustable rear lower control arms, BC coilovers with swift springs and poly bushings for the front control arms.

The shipping notification showed everything showed up yesterday (at my work address) but I'm still waiting on the coilovers.

I should have everything installed in the next week or so which would be great since I've got 4 track days at the end of the month back to back.

To be honest, I'm glad they're ordered but what I'm REALLY excited about are my custom rear seats. When I installed the JCW Recaro seats in the front, I bought some used seats for the rear.

I then had an embroidery company duplicate the lettering on the front seats and had the upholstery shop reshape the rear seats to look like Recaro rear seats. (Alcantara and black leather just like the front)

I know it's stupid... it's just for looks but it will look cool as hell with the front seats installed.

Then..... I can finally install the rollbar I've had sitting at my shop for over a month.

And that will be the last mod.... really.

What did you buy for track tires? Do those BC coilovers come with camber plates for the front? Can I have a ride in it at VIR?

I've been running Bridgestone RE 011's but now I'll be using
ADVAN A048

I was just corrected by a friend... apparently BC's come with camber plates. Guess we'll see.

And absolutely, we'll go for a ride...

I went with the H&R Street Performance coilovers and have been very pleased. Having had the Cross on my R53, the ride comfort is very high, as much as the Crosses. I'm sure you'll be happy with the BC's.
