Hard braking and steering judder

Is the Alta Positive Steering thing the only way to attack this?

No - my rotors aren't warped and pads are fine (brand new wilwood kit)

Even with my stock brake setup, the car would get squirly when hard on the brakes.

What's your suspension setup? Lowering springs on factory struts? Possible failed front struts.

Have you replaced your lower control arm bushings? New/aftermarket ones take the mush out of hard braking dramatically.

Thank you for the link.

I tried hard braking on the street today - it defiantly wasn't as bad as it was on our horrible freeway that caused me to make this thread.

I think it was a combination of my alignment/suspension and the bad freeway.

Solid FCABs will help tons, but like onasled said, poorly setup suspension will induce instability too. Just because you have Cross coilovers doesn't mean they're setup well. You could be getting coil bind on the fronts with the stock Cross springs during hard braking. Also you could be slamming onto bumpstops during braking [assuming they're pretty short/hard stops like most short-travel coilovers.

Thank you all for your replies.

I think the FCAB's are mostly to blame here. I've felt the butt of the car getting wild too under heavy braking as well.

The Alta PSRS system is a huge step up from stock. A very nice alternative to the poly bushings.
