So at the race it was ~-2.5 camber and 1/8" toe out.
Used new Kumho v710s 215/40/16
stock sports suspension sway bars.

Ok now for the mini review:

They are freaking awesome. My car has never stuck so well. NO body roll, very flat through the slalom, turn in was awesome. I cannot place any blame on the car for not taking first in DSP - it was all the driver's fault.

I took it easy the first run because I didn't know if I'd have understeer or oversteer. That run I had neither (nor on 2 of the other runs)

Each run I stepped it up a notch getting faster and faster. The tires only slipped once out of 4 runs. Going around a sharp hairpin too fast I got a little bit of understeer. Not much at all but it came on before the tail swung out.

Too say I am extremely pleased would be an understatement.

Thanks JAN!
Glad to hear we have another satisfied customer!

these make the car very easy to drive fast. My wife drove at the last autox and did a best time only two seconds slower than my best. Her first time at autox and first timedriving my car with the current setup

thank you,
I know www.hopupracing.com charges $2,125 and gives you free shipping. That's the cheapest I've heard so far....could be cheaper out there though.

I finally got my hands on a set of these bad boys happy days for Randy!

I installed them last week (what a way so spend my vacation) then followed up shortly after with a set of Alta PSRS bushings and lower control arms to bring in the rear camber. I'm also running my 19mm rear bar on the middle setting, at least for now. I'm lowered by aprox. 1 3/4" and currently running the fronts at 4 from full soft and the rears at 5. I still need to install my rear adjusters. These are on order from Cross, as they no longer come with the kit.

The difference from stock set up is night and day, no contest. The car is so much more "mini go cart like" and a whole lot less comfy BMW. I just had my aligment done yesterday, so I'm really just getting used to how precise the handling is now. The ride quality is considerably firmer than stock and not for the faint of heart, but that's what I wanted, also, the PSRS's are awesome! The added NVH from the coilovers comes as an acceptable tradeoff for the much improved feeling of power to the ground, Torque steer seems to be pretty much eliminated. It's SO nice to not have the car squat back anymore under hard acceleration. I think I can honestly say that my suspension woes have been properly taken care of.

I have some initial set up data for anyone wanting a good staring place for ride height.

In the front, measuring between spring perches I get 5 7/8". That's with the spring snug against the upper perch. From the lower perch to the adjustment lock down nut, I measured aprox. 3 1/2"

In the rear from perch to perch, 6 7/8" and aprox. 1 3/4 from lower perch to the lock down nut. These settings will yeild about a 1 3/4 inch drop.

Some pics of the rears.

With crown spokes would I have to have spacers to run these? I am thinking of getting the coilovers, but use my crown spokes for winter tires. If they need a spacer what size would be needed?

It wasn't clear to me what suspension you came from .. but I can tell you from the sport suspension to these coilovers, I experienced no NVH additions (if anything, less versus more). So my guess is a majority of the added NVH is more likely from the PSRS bushings (which is expected and documented elsewhere).

Comparing to non-sport, I'm don't have person experience but just wanted to make sure there wasn't a feeling that these things added a lot of NVH because that would be opposite my experience.

My impressions of any additional NVH (nothing major) are based on my experience prior to the PSRS install. I was on stock suspension previously, and drove around with the coilover upgrade for about 5 days prior to the PSRS upgrade.

Anyone able to answer my question about the crown spokes working without spacers? Please!

Cool deal... would you mind commenting more on the PSRS upgrade itself? I've been curious about these but haven't pulled the trigger as I don't want to add any more NVH to this beautiful vehicle.
Just curious about your first hand experience.

I wouldn't worry too much about any added NVH with the PSRS's. What little there may be is WELL worth the trade off in terms of precise handling. I didn't realize until after having these installed just how much you could feel the stock bushings flex under stress. You can feel it under hard braking, acceleration and in hard cornering. Keep in mind that the stock bushings will only get worse over time and as I uderstand it, the PSRS's should last the life of the vehicle. If you want the best handling that your car has to offer, then do this mod.

Alright, after getting several PMs about the subject, I've decided to post some pictures of the holes I drilled to install the remote cable adjusters for the rear. It was a very easy process and I highly, HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who tracks their car as it makes life infinitely more easy when adjusting at the track.

Here's the 2 inch bit I used to drill the holes, it took a while as the metal is pretty thick and I'm sure there are better bits out there, but this is what I had and it does work:

Here are the adjusters with the panels off:

The driver's side, notice that it clears the amp no problem, contrary to what some people have speculated:

All neatly installed and hidden away but easy to access:

So there it is! PM me for any other questions, I'm not around that often anymore

Oh and masterd78, who inspired this post, to answer your question, yes crown spokes clear fine with no spacers, it's what I run on the street.

Thanks for posting those pics. I'd ask for a couple of different angles so we could drill from topside down.

You can't drill from the topside down, because then you have no way of knowing where the top of the strut is to align the holes. You have to go from the bottom up, otherwise you can't be sure that the holes will be in the right spot.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks timmy! That's a masonry bit that you used!!! but as long as it worked. I still need to install mine. Did you find that you needed to get the rear sway bar out of the way in order to get a drill in there?

I just purchased a set of Cross coilovers for my 2008 MCS. The product looks great. I went to do the install and have a problem on the front. The bottom of the coilover fits into the suspension where the pinch bolt goes through is tight the hole is 51.4mm and the base of the coilover is 52mm. I tried to spread the hole in the space at the pinch bolt but was unable to. The pinch bolt only moves the thing a mm or so. I measured the stock shock on the bottom and it is 51.2mm. Has anyone had a similar problem and if so how did you resolve it?

Any help would be appreiciated
Thanks,
terry

That does sound a little odd. I had no problems installing mine. I would call Cross and talk with them directly about this.

I just tried setting my Cross on my R56 on max stiff just to see how it feels. Let me tell you.. the thing handles like a solid rock rail track... hahah but my back is hurting now...

I still havent done my alignment... but i tell you.. these coilovers are awesome... I have lower rear control arm so it is pretty zeroed out as far as camber wise and rear H&R sway at stiff...

I gotta go back to Danny and tell him to put my dampening at normal street level... i gotta get my alignment soon.... very soon...

I had mine at the middle settle on dampening (without alignment) and i felt that the car still had a lot of lean and not a quick response to steering movement. After Danny just pumped it to max dampening, omg... car was so solid at the expense of my back... so... any suggestions on dampening?
