Gremlins in the water
Gremlins in the water
Strange thing on my way to pick my son up from the airport a couple of days ago.
Before leaving went through the normal checklist oil/water/fluid checks all ok.
got around 90 miles out and wanted to clear bug guts from windshield ,NO WATER comes out . So stopped and checked under the hood . All seemed fine water level was ok cap was on just noticed a trace of water on the plastic wheel cowl . In park I tried it again and still NO water but could hear the pump working .
OH well carried on to the airport .
Got to the airport a little early
(pulley and exhaust mods work huh)
tried again nothing this time with lights on and the light washers worked but still no screen wash .
Got the boy and got back to the car around 2 hrs later (airport security checks)
. got on board pulled out into traffic and tried again
IT WORKED
and has seemed to work ever since . Any one else gone through this ???

Window washers
If you let window washer solvent sit in the lines for a few days, the alchohol evaporates out but the water stays behind. The water will freeze in the lines when it gets cold outside. Parking a warm car allows the engine heat to thaw the lines.
This has happened to my other cars, but so far not my MINI.
Of course if you live in one of those boring areas where the seasons don't change this may not apply.

I do believe this is the same cabmeister that is also a member of Sunshine MINIs here in Florida and they have not had any weather cold enough down here to have anything freeze.
