Mark,

You are correct, that does not look correct. Just to confirm, what vehicle / engine is this for?

If it was a secondary air hose for the idle circuit, yes.

Since this is a water hose, I do not think it would affect the idle. Is there any warning light on the display?

That doesnt appear to be under your intake. That looks like the turbo air feed line. That also doesn't look like a MINI hose clamp. They use spring clamps everywhere I think. For the small stuff anyways. If it's going to the thermostat then you should straighten that out.what engine do you have?

Does look like one of the many hoses that comes out of the cooling distribution thing that gets fed off the water pump tube. Cant really tell which though without a slightly zoomed out shot

First pic seems to be a hose just above the tranny linkage. That would be a heater hose from the t'stat housing to the firewall. Judging by the aftermarket hose clamp, someone did a bad job of repairing / replacing this hose. So Mark, how about a little history on this car --- how long have you had it? What were the last few repairs and who did them, an indie shop, a mini dealer, you, a mechanically-minded friend?

As mentioned by iwashmycar, a pic or description of where this hose actually connects would be helpful.

And, no, it shouldn't cause stalling, but as fussy as these ECU's are, who knows for sure.
