Misfire Cyl #2, on cold start. goes away after warmed up

My 05 MCS is going through a rough time lately. One problem after solving another

The latest is a misfire on cy#2 , that disappears after warmed up. I was hoping for the worst, but thought will do an inspection before replacing parts and doing a leak down test.
Log story short, the ignition wire that goes into the cyl #2 has a strong gasoline smell, where as the other wires not. Is it possible that a fuel injector leaking? I can't pull the plug from cyl#2 to make 100% sure as it has a time-sert.

I thought will try replacing the #2 fuel injector, but the price of genuine MINI injector is outrageous! Wondering what do you guys use. Also, it is an 05 R53 with ~130k miles. Is it about the life of the injectors? is it a good idea to replace all 4 vs just this one ? Thanks guys!

Have you think of swapping the #2 injector with another - ideally #4 as it is the farthest from it?

You should also update "2005 MCS 6MT/70K miles |Alta Intake|Invidia N1|Koni FSD"

Thanks for the suggestion pnwR53S! I will give that a try when I get to it to make sure it is the #2 FI
Is it common for the fuel injector to start leaking? heard about clogged injectors, but not the other way around

Also any idea who the OEM for these injectors ? Thanks!

Try turning off your DSC when you start it (before driving) and see if that solves your misfire issue. My 2004 MCS was throttling down and barely moving after startup until I began turning off the DSC. Solved the problem for some unknown reason (DSC sending the ECU errant signals?).

Of course, that's not going to solve your injector leak which sounds as though it might be an o-ring issue. You can buy an entire set of multi-size o-rings at Harbor Freight for next to nothing. Try pulling the injector, replacing the o-ring, reinstalling and see what that does for you.

Next thing would be coil, plugs and plug wires, in that order. I'd start with the coil (relatively inexpensive - $20-$25 on the low end) and replace that first, test it, then move to the plugs if the new coil doesn't fix it. Test it again, then plug wires last. Nice mods BTW.

This more indicates a bad wire, coil, or plug. The gas smell proves the injector is doing it's job. Maybe not great, but it more points to the other things.

Hello cooper48 and ItsmeWayne , you guys are awesome!! Thank you!!!
It was a bad wire ( I had some spare to test)

Since the ignition coil and wire was replaced in less than an year ago, it was not at all in my "suspected" list. Also, since the car was running fine after the initial few minutes struggle, I thought it must have been something left over in the cylinder while the car is parked/turned off

Thanks again guys, have great weekend! All I can say is this forum is awesome
