Weird Problem

Ok I am new to Mini but not forums. I was on NASIOC for years and have now made the leap to the Mini world! I have searched but cant seem to find a thread with this particular issue. When I put my car in reverse the radio goes to static, when I take it out of reverse all goes to normal. Logic says it has something to do with he reverse light causing static I just cant figure out how that would be happening. Anyone else have this happen to them.

Welcome to NAM. Going to move this to the Stock Problems/Issues section.

Car have any winter weather in its history? Assuming you have a hatchback and thinking the wire harness is chaffed and a short is interfering with the radio signal.

On the car, was it a beach area car? I know from living in Florida that the sea mist can cause allot of issues with cars.

Never mind the signature I fixed it. On the other topic I bough the car used but do have its history. Been abused and I am resurrecting it. The PO took the bulb out of the reverse light all together and maybe I see why. Its annoyinh but not that big a deal just trying to wrap my mind around what could be the actual cause.

It was in Irvine for the first 11 years of its life which is pretty close to the beach, not a lot of salt in the air though.
