Valve cover question

On on the back passenger side of my valve cover I'm getting a hissing sound. If i cup my hand around it I can make the sound quieter so I know it's coming from here. Does this part pop off so I can see whats under it? I'm guessing it pcv related but I wanted to ask before I start prying later.

The orange rubber diaphragm is more than likely torn underneath the round cover. You have two options here:
Replace just the diaphragm, (available on eBay) but risk breaking the tabs in the round cover, (arrow in your pic). Or...
Replace the entire valve cover which is what I eventually did after losing the new diaphragm, (I was careful removing cover but still must have broke some tabs). Car ran much better after replacing the whole valve cover. Good luck

Hmmmm. Did u by chance take pics of how the tabs mounted? I'm thinking I might attempt to replace the diagram if it's bad. My question is if I take that little cover off can I leave it off and still drive it until the new diaphragm comes in or should I order it then attempt to take it off?

I drove mine with a torn diaphragm but I wouldn’t do it again. Internal engine pressure was so high with engine running, I couldn’t even remove the oil cap. Imagine what that pressure will do to your seals over time. Plus the car ran like crap at idle. Most if not all these aftermarket diaphragms come from Russia so shipping takes quite awhile. I waited almost a month only to lose it in less than a week.

I actually just watched this video after my last comment. My car runs just fine no issues as of right this second. Well I have a issue from when I replaced the fuel fiter but that's besides the point ha. I'm going to order one and give it a shot. If it works I save $300 pus for a little while if it doesn't then oh well, I'm buying a new valve cover.

I ended up replacing the diaphragm and it seems to have fixed the issue. The "hisssing" sound went away so all seems good. Only thing is today I was under the hood doing general stuff and I noticed a little oil residue around what looks like an opening in the plastic where the diaphragm is. I don't recall if I've ever saw oil here when it was "stock". There still isn't a noise just a little residue. My question is, is this normal and how does this diaphragm actually work? Does it vent to atmosphere when crankcase pressure is too high? If that's the case oil residue should be normal?
