to check whether the pump is doing ok, use the torque pro and see what live readings you get when idling/accelerating. If you get low/unsteady pressure, then it could be the pump as well...
Anyone else?

I'd go that route too, I had similar and it was the fuel pump. I had low idle pressure readings.

sounds like the HPFP is done for..

Just had the same on my R56 few weeks back. If you check the fuel rail pressure using your OBDII scanner.. you would likely see pressure in the ~80psi range.. instead of ~700-800psi.

700-800 psi is the reading I am get when car is idleing.
Under full acceration it passes the 1200psi mark...

yeah exactly.. should see upwards of +1700psi under hard acceleration .. but I wouldnt try to WOT with a faulty pump; youre just asking for issues.

*if you see 80psi at start.. the pump has failed and needs replacement.

if it hasn't been changed before, I'd start with a new fuel filter. Cheap fix, and if it doesn't help the problem, it still needs to be done as maintenance anyway on a car as old as yours.
I just did it, and it took less than hour.

are you getting half - check engine light when it idles rough and stalls?
*does it only happen now, from cold-start?

My pump went back and forth for about a week.. sputtering, running rough.. then fine. Hiccup and backfire in the morning then stall.. then fine once warm. Once I started monitoring fuel pressure, I was able to see a few times where pressure went to 80psi as the CEL came on, then went away. Finally.. it died all together.

Theres been some cases of the pump housing cracking, as well as the internal seals failing and causing these issues. If you dont have a pressure issue - I would closely examine all of the coils and wires.. then plugs.

When was the last time you pulled the spark plugs? *need to start ruling out spark/ignition sources next

that P0141 o2 sensor heater code is where i would look next, as you have already eliminated spark source.

*above code is referencing your primary O2 sensor as having a short in closed loop mode.. that warrants replacement for sure. Readings are likely throwing your ECU fits.
