Hey ECS! Should I be a green oil guinea pig?

Time for an oil change on the '08 R52 JCW. I have the SOPUS/MINI 5w30 in the basket but wondering about the new green Liquimoly oil ECS tuning has been advertising. Should I give it a go?

I have a lot of shorter trips and owing to my health and wife not driving a stick she sees really low miles.

Hello,

You dont have to be a guinea pig, just give it a try The oil has been used for some time in Russia and Europe for MINIs. It's just new to the USA through ECS exclusivly to us. Like all Luqui Moly MINI users it falls into the same family, just has a couple more perks.

When you do try it, report back. Would like to hear your feedback.

Meets the LL-01, has the green color so you can see leaks ( if you have them). Also, has the added friction modifier which tests have shown a reduction in friction coefficient of as much as 15%. More info and specs on the product page.

I have been proven wrong many times.

I like the green to spot fresh leaks. But it's about the same price as other premium oils. I don't see a reason NOT to unless it ends up being garbage. Since it meets LL01 standards I'd say it's probably not garbage. I'm not sold enough to switch from Mobil 1 though.

I chickened out because I didn't want to wait until November to get it and just ordered a the MINI SOPUS oil instead. Once it's out and some UOA info is available I'll probably give it a go.

We got a bunch in and the sold out really quick. We have more on order, it was just more popular than we thought and the fact we are the only ones in the USA to have it.

Sign up for auto notify and when it comes in you will get an email. If you are due for an oil change I would get that done till the next shipment lands.
