Asin or CVT transmission?

Had a transmission line crack this week. Need to replace the transmission fluid. There was a recall in 2013 (?) on the CVT transmissions. Bought the mini used, so we're not sure whether the transmission was replaced in the recal or not. Can someone please tell us from the photo of the label if this is an original transmission (CVT) or a replacment? Tried google for over 2 hours and couldn't find ANYTHING! The first 4 digits where the glare is, are 2400.

Also, would like to know names of brands of tranny oil that wouldn't have to be special ordered to replace the lost fluid. Red Line? Castrol CVT (if it's a CVT tranny)

One last thing - does anyone know if there's a rebuild kit for the connectors at end of the transmission cooling lines, or will I have to purchase completely new lines?

Thanks ahead of time for answers.

Guessing it is a Cooper,..(gen 1).if it is, it is a CVT....
And the CVT was made by ZF...PRETTY SURE...just getting my guess since not sure which data plate you found...
Iit is a Cooper s (gen1) it has the ASSIN....
There was a recall...and a settled class action lawsuit...so find a knowledge person at the dealer to lead you through the process....but think you are a day late and a dollar short....
Good luck.

need help with fluid

Okay. Guess we're screwed as far as replacing the tranny.

Hopefully, the split line didn't cause it to fail.

Will this fluid work for replacing what leaked through the crack in the line?

Here is the Automatic transmission fluid for the CVT that we recommend, we also have the Genuine fluid option: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item0

I am not familiar to that brand.

You will need a CVT fluid : Febi and Redline are fine and meet the OEM MINI standards,

To be more accurate, there was no recall on the CVT.

BMW settled a class action lawsuit to reimburse owners who paid out of pocket for repairs. All of the deadlines for filing claims have expired. I believe that at this time, BMW has no further responsibility to cover repairs.
