Taking out option armrest, need to order parts.

I have the optional sliding armrest that I never used. I want to change it to the non armrest. I was told that I need a few parts to change it. Can anyone tell me from the diagram what parts are needed?

I have done it.

You will need #16 which is 51162756167, and The trim ring that goes on top that matches the decor. There is a small screw on the inside that goes in place.

Thanks ecs! I thought Mini Cooper said I would need the stuff under the console, if not that would save me some money. What about part 51169185111. I haven't seen mine lately but I thought they were different for the optional armrest.

You are welcome.

Nope #8 is the same for non armrest and armrest versions,. So its easy to add the armrest.

51169185111 and 51169185112 are the covers for the armrest version only , the full cup section takes there place,

I had the sliding armrest in my '11 Clubbie and my '14 Clubbie came with the Euro(?) one...and I wish I had my sliding one back.

How much of a PITA is it to retrofit the sliding one (and where can I get a sliding one)?

We have its here, I done it on my R52. Not too hard on the R56+ , since the center console is made to retrofit.

R56- R59 parts

The black base trim is the color you will need that match in the interior of the 2011+ MINIs.

See I like mine, then when i shift I have a place to hold my elbow. It feels weird when you take it out, after using it. Lots of track guys do it as it gets in the way of there quick shift and violent cabin movement.

Yea, when it's up to fit bigger drinks , if its too tall, or wide it will not fit with it. Hits the bottom of the armrest.

Funny. One reason I prefer the sliding armrest is because it keeps my 2nd water bottle (Deer Park half liter) from falling out. I can only put the smallest DP water bottles in the rear seat cup holders.

The Euro one is significantly larger, but I don't keep that much in there. GF's house keys, back up cash and my Leatherman Skeletool.
