Center Armrest w/ Sliding Storage whoes

Hi all!

Just purchased on Line Factory Armrest w/ Sliding Storage for my MCS 08, All the stuff came in,alas: Seems like MINI changed their center console style from the 07 models to the 08! The company I bought item from where responsive, when I called in about this problem, the gentleman told me that I was the second one to call in with this problem this week,In a nutshell, o7s had a 2 part console, wheras 08s are one piece!
So, I have to call back this friday to see if they are going to be able to ship me up the right 08 parts. Will keep readers posted. Anyone Else had problems? Thanks T.

I did not want that "sliding storage" version, instead I ordered the European Version which is larger (12" x 4.5") and has a latching, padded flip-top.

I am very pleased with this version, does not interfere with rear Cup Holder or Parking Brake and is very comfortable for Two Elbows.

see here or here, but check if the company you have ordered from may also have it, it is a MINI Factory Product used in European Market.

Install in :20 minutes, remove two T-40 Torx at rear of inboard seat tracks and just loosen the front torx screws and the sturdy legs fit beneath the tracks.

I like my 'euro' arm rest as well.
I just wish it would fold back a little more.
I wonder if a modification could be made to make this happen?

Good to know, thanks for posting, guys. Was thinking of having the dealership put in the armrest (stock one). Now I think the Euro-style will be better for us. Important info to know ahead of the time!

Had my seats (and armrest) out yesterday and noticed two #15 Torx screws on rear of armrest.

That would be where to look for a way to make it fold back more, what ever stops it must be in there.

I was wondering if the us armrest is comfortable, or does it get in the way of driving?

For me it is very comfortable and does not get in the way (I have Getrag as well). The dealer test drive car didn't have one and it felt awkward where to place my right arm.

But I know many others here on NAM feel the opposite. My recommendation is to test drive both and see which feels more natural.

Big for the "euro" armrest.... I HATED my old-style slider... which I paid extra for...

The good one (with custom leather c/o Redline Goods):

I'm with you. I have no problem with it so far. It makes all the difference in the world in terms of comfort.
