2009 mini cooper s loss of power p3091 and P2177

So my mini has been giving me issues lately. It goes into limp mode, shows me that half engine sign and a check engine light as well. I noticed it happens when I am stuck in traffic (has happened about 10 times in the last month and every time it was in stuck traffic), and the car starts to idle very roughly, if I turn the car off and back on it goes away. I got the error codes which are these (showed 3 of them, so I took a picture, seems the only difference is one of the error codes has a pd on the screen for the p3091, not sure what that means.

Here is the check engine sign which I am sure you guys all have seen

It seems to have happened more often now since I put an air filter on it (ghetto rigged it) as it might be taking in too much hot air when I am stuck in traffic, here is how my air filter looks. It's a K&N cold air intake filter

I also took out the grill in the hood scoop to let it get more air see

Does any of you guys have any ideas what is causing this issue, I keep on reading it is probably the HPFP, oxygen sensor, regular fuel pump or the fuel filter.

Thanks in advance.

You have got the HPFP code, whatever you do don't reset or delete it or it won't be covered under the extended warrtany without the code being present! Bank 1 is sensor 1 aka primary O2 sensor, its probably detecting the lean condition.

I don't have an extended warranty :-(, so it's the hpfp?

Mini issued an extended warranty on the HPFP 120,000 miles or 10 years. The best way to be sure is have both fuel pumps checked out.

+1 Yea, you will have to have it looked at, dont clear the codes as they will not see them stored most of the time. Give the dealer a call and see if you fall under the extension., should be for the miles and years. Select 2007,08, and 09 models.

+1

There is a PDF of the extended warranty info HERE. You can call the number on there if you have questions, but give the dealer a call and let them know your issues.

ECS Tuning, I am so embarrassed to reply that I had erased the freaking code before I read on here not to do so :(, anyhow it has not come up again which freaking sucks so now I have to hopefully either get it before the warranty runs out (6k miles more) and hopefully it will come on, or not come on anymore after. So no real update yet.

Its ok, if you did not know and you erased it, you would had to know that before hand, then hopefully it will pop back up . Which most of the time it does if its a persistent issue. Then get its covered.
