loud engine ticking problems/rough idle

hello I have a 2007 Mini Cooper base model & 4 moths after purchasing(used) the vaccum pump starting making a really loud no king sound at idle and car idle goes crazzy low and wants to turn off , I've had the vacuum pump replaced and still the same problem . This only happens when the motor is past 95 degrees celcius . When car accelerates past 1,500 rpm all noises problems go away and car is back to rough idle /nocking noises when I ce to a stop again. Anny suggestions/help before I dump lots of $$$ into a mechanic?? 3 mechanics have already checked it and found nothing that could be causing this , there is no engine codes. Thanks in advance

Yeah definitely sounds like a timing chain gone bad! There's a huge thread about this problem, very common issue. Do not run you engine anymore because if the timing chain comes off your problems will multiply!

Been there, heard it, replace timing chain components and then less than two years later had to replace the timing chain tensioner that was installed new with the new timing chain.

My timing chain is fine , the noise comes from the driver side of the engine From the Break Vacumm pump!

At least it's cheaper to repair. However, don't drive it until it's replaced.

You're not going to get any codes as there's no electrical connection or anything monitoring the mechanical vacuum pump, I promise you if the vacuum pump seizes up it will also seizes up your exhaust camshaft causing it to shatter causing engine damage! Valves will strike the pistons, you get the idea. This has happened to other's before and they had no clicking noises to warn them of impending damage.
