Best value water pump brand for replacement?
Hi all, I'm new to the forum, and I'm also the "new" owner of a 2009 Mini Cooper S with 94K miles that needs a new water pump. Can anyone give some good insight into what brand of water pump I should be looking at that balances quality for value? I've seen replacements from Saleri, Graf, Bosch, ect.
Also, is there anything I should absolutely get changed while my mechanic is changing the water pump? I doubt the old owner from NYC had much serviced.

Used the Graf and Hepu, no issues other then all the aftermarket ones have a longer main shaft which requires to move the engine bit to fit the pulley over the outside for the extra length. I just comes down to price, all of our have the metal outside, so you are good. " Just have to nug the engine over a hair more because its tight up against the back side wall. If you can replace the pump in general you can do this job. "
Tad longer shaft.

The older ones have a plastic housing.
Here is a good DIY:

I only use the OES MINI water pumps. The newest version is all aluminum now so the plastic is gone and they have a 2yr warranty. If it fails MINI does the labor, and pays the parts so it's hard to beat.

I don't use the aftermarkets in the shop as I've been burnt too many times. Doing that job again cause it leaks is too big a loss to risk. And like you asked some of them have the longer shaft making it much harder to install. One time I had to grind one down to get it installed.

Think it means if a MINI dealership installs it with a Genuine MINI part ?

Just an upate:
We just received the Febi / Bilstein version in ( made in Italy also ) and its contains a outside shorter rod on the impeller just like Genuine MINI, also the impeller is metal ( vs the plastic composite ). And Metal housing.

Doesn't matter who installs the part as long as it is installed correctly and isn't a failure due to incorrect install.

I would if its the plastic housing one, quick check on the bottom side near the drive belts. To see if you have the old black plastic housing design that cracks. My plastic one on my R56 leaked at the bottom and the metal one has been going strong.

Quick question for you all. Getting my timing chain replaced (surprise...NOT) so wondering if I should just change the water pump while I'm getting this done. I haven't noticed any problems, but might as well kill two birds with one stone kind of thing. Thoughts? Thanks for the help.
