2011 Mini Cooper S Seat Belt & Airbag Light

I have a 2004 330i and have been able to maintain it using the forums (e46fanatics). My girlfriend drives a 2011 mini cooper S. I have never had the problem she is experiencing. Believe me, There have been a looooong list of problems with my car, yet I still love it. I expected better with her car. She bought it with 57k miles last July. Driving it under normal conditions the seat belt light and airbag light is on. It has hasn't been off since. I've checked MINI2, here, friends with mini's but there doesn't seem to be a resolution other then getting raped at the dealership. The code thrown is showing a faulty Airbag control Module. MINI of Naperville IL gave me one part number, Kauth and Mayer (Indy) gave another part number and Ebay has another for units that all look the exact same. I'm not trying to pay the dealership an exorbitant amount of money. I am also not trying throw random parts at this car. Insurance, MINI, or This VehicleOne extended warranty Doesn't want to do anything. I'm basically getting a GOOD LUCK BRO. This is utterly frustrating. I'm wondering if I just buy this, http://www.ebay.com/itm/07-11-MINI-COOPER-R55-R56-R57-AIRBAG-AIR-BAG-SRS-MODULE-COMPUTER-OEM-/251349816141?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ACooper%7CSubmodel%3AS&hash=item3a859dd34d&vxp=mtrinstall it myself, and calling it a day will work. Is there going to be a "OOOHH well the module is tied to the VIN so your going to have to (give us lots of money) to reset it.

Lastly, what about having my current unit repaired? http://www.airbagsystems.com/customer.html

Thanks for the time

I have the same error on an 09 clubman

Cant reset with inpa software. Is this the point where you must replace the airbag control module?

Yes.. worked for me. Purchased module on ebay for $145 and it solved my issue (plug n play). Install was pretty easy.. Remove Passenger seat, remove (armrest) center console, and the module is sitting right there. No carpet to remove etc... You can do it in an hour.

corrosion!

When i removed my airbag controller i found corrosion on some pins of the smaller connector. The pins which are gold plated look fine but others are tin coated (to save money?) And several are black with corrosion. Also noted some blue green residue near these pins. Perhaps a leftover from soldering at the factory.
But, after cleaning i still get 93d7 now am buying used controller which has no airbag deployment and no light on previous car.what will i have to do to get this one to play in my car? I have inpa.

I just had to have my light reset. Cost me $121 but I didn't need to get the controller changed. Mine popped on because I removed the airbag. What I'd like to know if there is a way to permanently remove error light so it just stops coming on. I'm gonna be installing some new seats and I have a feeling the light is gonna pop on again when I make the replacement and I'd rather the light just be disabled. Anyone heard of this or if it is even possible?

No matter what your gonna have to have that reset as the light won't turn off by fixing the problem. I forgot to plug my seat back in doing a amp install and even after plugging it back in it stays on. I found a local guy who did it for $40 , dealer wanted $125 .

And 99% sure if light is on your system is disabled and won't work. That part scares me in such a small car.

I think I found a solution. Way Motors has the following item:

http://www.waymotorworks.com/bavaria...tml?quantity=1

It'll pay for itself with one mod just about. (when compared to the 120 the dealership charges.)

93d7 resolved by replacing the airbag control module aka (MRS) Multiple Restraint System. I bought part number 65.77 3451779 from Warehouse of Time on Ebay for $100. When I installed it, I used INPA to clear 2 errors (not 93d7) and then when I disconnected and turned on the car, I still had the airbag light on. I reconnected with INPA and saw and cleared 1 error from error memory again. I also cleared the Information memory and the History memory. When I disconnected and started the car, the airbag light did it's test flash the then stayed OUT!
My summary is that the connector to the original unit was corroded and possibly lost connection with the unit. The original internal error stated that the error had been active for 45 minutes before the unit recorded the "internal error". This error could not be cleared by INPA nor would AirBag reset companies clear it. So replacement of the MRS module was the only way to resolve the problem.

Do you need programming the modules? Thanks a lot.

Like I said. None. Plug n play. I didn't have to do anything on my end, not sure if the module I purchased was anything special.

Same problem with same year and vehicle... any chance you can post the Ebay link of the auction or seller to whom you purchased? Just not sure what exactly to look for. Thanks!
