Leak in oil supply line to turbo

I've got a leak in my upper oil supply line to the turbo. I tried to tighten it, but it would not budge. It seems to have shown up after the recall for the aux water pump was done. My mini is a 07 MCS with 71,000 miles. any thoughts?

This is a pretty common problem and really should be a recall IMO. The line uses a rubber gasket for the seal on the turbo end and after many heat cycles that gasket deteriorates. My friend has a WRX and subraru also did a recall on their turbo lines for this exact same problem, no peep from Mini though.

I've got a 07 R56 and just recently noticed oil stains on mine as well, just over 50k miles. The solution is to replace with an aftermarket line that does not use the rubber gasket. Detroit Tuning makes one. I am planning to do a post soon on all the information I've found related to this issue. I am hoping to do it myself as the dealer wants $1k just for labor to install this $60 line.

This is a fairly common problem. I had it happen to my car and the dealer fixed it under warranty. Since they replaced the hose with stock parts I won't be surprised if it happens again.

Thanx, I did look after I posted and found the bad news. I might try to tackle this myself with aftermarket lines.

We make a fix for it. There is a link for the install directions there also.

Let me know if you have any questions. I just went through this whole scenario myself.
