I am an over the road truck driver and driver it one day a week for about 40 miles

well I havent been home in two weeks and tried to start the car and it just went click and all the power shut off and my clock reset

I tried it again for a second time and it acted perfect and started right up like nothing was wrong

Sounds like a dead battery.

My 2005 MCS just started doing this as well. My daughter drives it most of the time but said when you turn the key sometimes the engine will crank maybe one revolution and then nothing. You have turn the key all the way off and try again. With her, she said she would turn the key off and then on a couples of times and then it would fire up like it has been for the last year that we have had it. I am going to double check all the terminals, make sure they are clean and tight and go from there.

The battery in my BMW bike just died, I hope this isn't going to be a trend with my cars like it has been with tires. When one car needs tires, something else happens to one of the other cars or my trailer.

I dive my car in a similar way...
the optima redtop is a good battery that can wistand longperiods of disuse...kinda $$, but imo worth it for convience/relilibility reasons when a car does some sitting.
Good to hear there are a few other roaddogs here.

I plan on checking the terminals also and installing a trickle charger

does the mini have any anti drain features?

after 20 minutes in my hhr everything power wise shut off to prevent battery drain

The mini's computers, keyless entry, etc tends to draw down the battery in just a few months...
The oem bats usually lasted about 36-38 months...and when they go, go fast...many 05's (mine missed the cutoff) got new oem batts by recal in mid 2007...so the one in there may be a replacement...just ensure the new battery, if a flooded cell type, has a vent tube connection..

Some types like the optioma are sealed, and do not have vents.
