Water pouring inside car when it's raining and you open the door(or window)

Has anyone else had this issue? I don't recall ever having this problem with my first MINI 2003.

I have had my 2012 for a few months now and this has happened a few times. I'm not talking normal amounts of rain getting in when you open the door or window...it literally POURS in...niagra falls! not sure if this is a terrible desgin flaw (I hope not) or an issue with the black rim or a drain problem?

Hoping someone out there has had this issue and can tell me how it was resolved?
Thanks!!

Sadly, it plagued both my '09 and continues to plague my '11. It sucks.

Meresul, My 2010 MINI hatch does it too, so that confirms MINI's consistency. If you can demonstrate Niagra Falls you may find that MINI will supply you with scuba gear for the rainy season. Others have complained, but I am not aware of a solution.

A design fault in every MINI, my 2002 and my wife's 2009. Plan on being wet every time you get out of the car when it is raining eve if you're parked in the garage!

You will notice it in Seattle trust me. It only happens when parking where
there is a down hill angle sloped towards the driverrs side. When you open the door to get out the movement releases all the water on the roof and your get a nice cold shower. Just a special option. I try to trigger the water now before exiting. Another trick is to hit the brakes hard before parking to shed the water on the roof. Tricky as it is ussually wet and slick out at this point. Option 3- back in and don't warn your buddy and let him get out first, LOL. It rains a bit where these are made you would think they would have figured that one out.
