ATI Damper Deal-$245.90

I was about to pull the trigger on an ATI Super Damper from Way when I saw this deal on eBay.

ATI Super Damper for Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S

It was $399 at Way and a bit cheaper from Summit Racing. I always try to support vendors, but this deal was too good to pass up as it was direct from ATI and at a big discount.

Only 3 left. Get em while they are still available.

My blemished Damper arrived yesterday from ATI and it looks perfect. There is a little white smear near with the timing marks are etched but I can't see how that will make a difference. I needed this and this deal was at the right price at the right time.

In the ProMini Vibration Damper install video they used a nice looking puller that had a square hole that makes removing the damper a one person job. It also looked like it should be less expensive than some others out there.

I emailed ProMini but have not heard back from them yet. Anyone have another source for that puller?

Also, the new damper has a place for a key but I see no key on the video. On RealOEM there is a "pin". Is that the key or is that something else?Without a key of course those beautiful timing marks are incidental but before I do this I just wanted to check first to be sure that there is no key on an Cooper S crankshaft.

Thanks in advance.

Rich

Yeah. I have one like that I just didn't like that the bolts weren't parallel. But in a pinch I will use it.

Is there an advantage of installing the ATI with a key? Anyone?

Yes but are you going to take the crank out to broach it?

The bolts bend, but IIRC they are good enough to be used again. It worked fine for me.

Yes. It is the crankshaft pulley.

But this was in eBay. You might try calling ATI and asking if they have other blems and if not, how often should you call back. The email for the auction was from Linda Burke <lburke@atiracing.com>. I'd start by contacting her and pleading your case.

When I made the post there were three left. Sorry.
