Heater blows out top of dash instead of vents

So i just bought a mini, when i select the vents to blow out the front vents - at me - it blows out the opening on the top of the dash, not back by the windshield, the one closer to the driver. Any thoughts?

Thanks guys.

The dial on the right hand side of the bottom portion of the controls (right above the toggle switches.) determines where the air comes out. If it's at the Up arrow, it blows at the windscreen, or you can have it blow at you, or at your feet.

I'm talking about when you have the control at 10 oclock (blowing feet and face) and 8 oclock (blowing just face). When i have it in either of these posistions it just blows out the top vent not out the 4 main dash vents that you can dial around.

Something is "wonky"

It sounds as though you have the controls set correctly.

Has the car ever been in an accident or had the dash removed? Maybe it wasn't put back together properly.
