Hey guys, is replacing one injector for 395 a reasonable price, this is for a regular 2003 mcs injector not the jcw's.

I had a leaky JCW injector and was quoted $250 in Baltimore/DC area

You can do it yourself for a lot less. It now takes me about an hour to change all 4 injectors on my R53 with simple tools.

And you can pick up some used stock 340cc injectors VERY inexpensively.

I don't know what they charge for a brand new regular 340cc injector but the 380cc JCW's are $105 a piece from the dealer around here.

The quote you got is too high if that is indeed all they are doing.

I'd be happy to advise you if you choose to do it yourself.

Thanks! would have loved to do it myself, but time unfortunately is very limited at the moment. I should probably just consider getting the used injector and have them charge me for the labor which they said would be about 190, I hope this would atleast make it more reasonable.

I honestly don't know for certain. I think so though. The only injector change that I am aware of was done late in '06.

Hi, Is it even worth paying $$$ to install a used injector?? How do you know if the used replacement injector doesn't suffer from the same issue as the injector (that needs replacing) that's in your engine now? Is it clogged? Dirty? Damaged somehow? Money may be tight, but it won't help you if the used injector is bad too. Then you'd be paying twice... Sorry, just my 2 cents.... I wish you luck.

It is about an hours job on a cold motor....
Add parts cost...
Used standard S injectors are pretty cheap...buy a full set, have extra's!!
All S's has the same injectors, as did all JCW cars until the JCW 210 kit came out in 2005..those are the blue striped 380's folks upgrade to!!
Just use new o-rings when you install used injectors!!

A full set of JCW 380's can be had for about $300!!
If you want a tune (you will need one with the big ones), you can get new undrilled bosh 550's on special from one tuner for like $250..for a set!!!
