Anyone know of a convenient place to run 2 14ga wires through the firewall? Passenger side preferred, but either side will work. I do see a white plastic grommet by the cowl on the driver's side - could just run the wires through it and silicone seal it, but I can't get far enough under the dash to see whether I can actually run the wires TO it from inside the passenger compartment. Thanks - - -

Best place to run wiring through the firewall is next to the power brake booster on the driver's side. You can gain additional room under the dash by removing the knee bolster under the steering wheel. This literally just pulls off, no tools needed.

It's the grommet above the clutch pedal arm, where the hydraulic line passes through. There is also a small wiring harness that passes through here as well. It is almost all the way at the top. The hydraulic line is greenish colored, the wiring is in a black convoluted tube:

i ran my lights under the steering column. Punch a hole through the grommet up there, and run whatever you want through it.

whatcha installing???

Slightly harder to get to from the outside, but easier to access from below the dash is the big wiring grommet on the side of the brake booster towards the center of the car. A hint for extra working room from the outside is to pop out the cowl vent above it. Push the vent up from below while pressing the front edge to the back of the car and it comes right out. It's actually a much bigger grommet, and you can cross the wires over to the other side of the car by passing them across the cowling. Just make sure not to pass wiring near the wiper linkages inside the cowling.

Aw come on, whatcha installing?

heh heh heh

installed twin trumpet 125-dB Hella air horns. I'll post the pics this week - it's really trick. I put a little push-button switch into one of the vacant slots of the toggle panel so I can use the air horns independently of the steering wheel horn - and I can hold down the switch as long as I want the horns on (not a push-on/push-off type switch). Put the compressor right above the brake distro block in the passenger side cowl area, horns are bolted to a custom (read: rudimentarily bent and cut) aluminum bracket on the passenger side, attached to the motor mount bracket. Had some fun polishing the bracket - looks better than chrome!

bad Baltimore drivers and street-going pedestrians beware!!!!!
