Ok, guys this is the deal.

Monday I went to get my 20000 mile service, and I had the cold start ISSUE, as many of us, I tols the MINI service Rep that I do NOT WANT THEM TO PLAY WITH MY SOFTWARE BECAUSE THE ISSUES WITH THE STUMBLE, and guess what they still UPGRADE my car and VUALA, yesteday I started to notice IT, yes I know my car has the PROBLEM TOO.
This morning I went to my dealer, and tell them that I was really disapointed at them, and the decided to "Upgarde" my car to make it better, and the just make it worse.
As everybody expected they apologize and told me that the know that in early OCT a new software is suppose to solve this matter, and they (THE MINI DEVELOPMENT DEP) are currently testing this new Software.

ANY COMENTS?
IT IS THIS TRUE?

PS: DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR SOFTWARE

Man...that sucks! I would scream to MINIUSA about your dealer's screw-up. They owe you something...

Anyway, no comment on the October software release...don't hold your breath!

Just bother the dealer until they offer to have your ecu sent back to MINI USA and get the previous software reinstalled, I've read about a few doing it and it works.

Welcome to the jungle, Julianvh. Sorry to hear you now have the stumble. I wouldn't place any bets on October. Tell the dealer that if they are confident in that date, you want it in writing. I imagine October will no longer seem like such a sure thing.

See ya,
JS

By the way...I was informed by MINIUSA that virtually ALL dealers have old software files available to them and are able to install them on ECUs which have gotten screwed up, but that they were strongly urged by MINIUSA to NOT do such a thing, as it sometimes made the problem worse. So feel free to demand the old software be put back on your ECU...

Chitown_COOP,

That sounds to me like BMW are aware of even worse problems assosciated with the earlier software.

What other reason could be given for not stopping the cars from stumbling and yoyoing?

julianvh,

Truely sorry they gave you these problems - Mini actually sold me mine right out of the box 6 months ago.

I think I could throw darts at a calander to come up with a more accurate fix date.

Sorry I can't offer anything more positive.

julian - maybe they misunderstood you

Screw that. 20,000 mile inspection? I didn't get one of those. I better call the dealer tomorrow and make sure they didn't kcuf with my ecu, eh?

Best wishes, my man - and the fix will be coming. I don't think a car co. has heard so many complaints about something so minor. Did someone say rear fogz?

The 20000 oil change and also they meke sure everything is fine with the car...
I notice that the stumble is decreasing significantly, because the stumble is supose to be MIX related I fill the car with SUNOCO 94(THAT I ALWAYS USE) and start to beat up the car a little more... trying to get the ECU to adjust to a higher range, it seems to work a little.

DID WE KNOW OF THEY HAVE A SPECIAL SOFTWARE FOR THE JCW...
