Interior parking lights stays on

This may seem like a silly question but I love my car too much to not ask!

I noticed my interior parking lights stay on even after I parked and lock the car. Referring to the CVT Automatic shifting area where it says (P,R,N,D). I do not think it's a major problem perhaps very slight battery usage? I am hoping atleast.

Lately, my car has been giving some issues given it's at 67100 miles. In the exact order I changed thermostat housing, batteries (basic maintenance change), and last of all my spark plugs that was causing stumbling/jolting on acceleration and when stop at red lights. Thank goodness it went away!!!

I doubt any of these above contributed to the parking lights. Is this simply a electrical wiring issues? Anything I should be concern about? How can I fix this? Removing battery for a few minutes and put it back on?

Do you mean the P stays illuminated? It should eventually turn off. It can take a 1/2 hour for the car to fully go to sleep.

Thank you TrueEddie! Yes, sorry I freaked out a bit and get a bit paranoid with my Mini.

I realized this morning it does turn off when I check this morning. Took it for another test drive since spark plug driving smoothly.
