Right halfshaft - no seals?

I noticed that there is not a seal on my right halfshaft as it emerges from the support bearing. Is that normal, or am I missing a seal? It looks to me like this area would see alot of debris and moisture.
Here's a fuzzy image, but I think you can get the idea:

The seal still exists at the transmission, but what you are seeing is the outboard support bearing that is there to allow for equal-length halfshafts.

It is a sealed ball bearing, though the seals are not as noticeable as those on the transaxle.
